No, he's not the president yet, (even though it sure looks like he is) but that's not going to stop Yomama from acting like one. One of the things the far-left has been trying to do since the war started, was to close-down the Guantanamo detention center where we keep our captured terrorists and "prisoners of war". Why they're not simply shot when captured is beyond me, but that's just me.
Now, he wants to bring them here so that they'll have open access not just to our goofy courts, but also to all the Leftist lawyers waiting to find a way to turn them loose. You can bet your life they'll be given every right that we citizens have, and then some.So put the dog out, get the kids together, wake grandma, and make plenty of popcorn because The Guantanamo Circus is coming to town!

Military tribunals. Goddamn it they are prisoners of war, and more probbly war criminals. They shouldn't get civilian trials, and they shouldn't be imprisoned indefinitely. They need military tribunals, like Nuremburg, and they need to be carried out NOW before this does any more damage to our credibility. We look like weak, waffling imbiciles that can be had as long as you are willing to exert influence and wait until the next election.

ReplyDeleteI know no part of the UCMJ applies to terrorists. I know that no part of our criminal law courts apply to crimes committed against US forces in other countries. It's irrelevant. There is nothing on the books to cover any of the folks in Guantanamo. That is why I've been saying to get a Nuremburg-type situation together to approach the subject NOW, instead of waiting until Obama takes over and brings them to America and tries them in Criminal court. You bring these guys to criminal court, it's "Case Dismissed" because they HAVE NOT BROKEN ANY LAWS UNDER THE US CRIMINAL COURT JURSIDICTION. It is a jursidictional issue, and that is why a special tribunal needs to be formed. Now.

The UCMJ deals with our military personnel. It has nothing to do with the bad guys. A special military tribunal could be foremd, lawfully, with Nuremburg as the precendent, and this could be dealt with summarily undetr those auspices. Sitting on the thing indefinitely has hurt us in so many ways I cannot even begin, but the biggest is that now it's Obama's baby, and he's going to coddle these fuckers right back out onto the front lines.
