The coolest second-hand ride in the universe

.
CAPE CANAVERAL — NASA's soon-to-be-retired space shuttles are up for grabs.

The space agency said Wednesday it's looking for ideas on where and how best to display its space shuttles once they stop flying in a few years. It's put out a call to schools, science museums and "other appropriate organizations" that might be interested in showcasing one of the three remaining shuttles.

Beware: NASA estimates it will cost about $42 million to get each shuttle ready and get it where it needs to go, and the final tab could end up much more.

The estimate includes $6 million to ferry the spaceship atop a modified jumbo jet to the closest major airport. But the price could skyrocket depending on how far the display site is from the airport. Only indoor, climate-controlled displays will be considered.

  2. I'm sure whoever is rich enough to purchase one will be worshipped by conservatives.

Conservatives worship the wealthy like slaves.

  6. hey HLF - what is your opinion of Warren Buffet?
he has dis-inherited his children & grandchildren & set up a foundation to give away to charity all his assets
    (Same with Bill Gates)

    are these bad capitalists?
    are they bad conservatives?
    are they bad republicans??

I honestly want to know how you classify them.......

  9. HLF loves all. But I don't spend much time here.

The story about Buffet claims that he disinherited his step-granddaughter, not all of them. (typical of you to exaggerate)

He has been quoted as saying that he wants to leave heirs enough that they can do anything but not enough that they can do nothing.

Buffet is more of a liberal. He has remarked on more than one occasion that he pays less % tax than his secretary and how nutty that is. He thinks the property tax system in CA due to Prop13 has created a mess (it has) and that he pays more prop tax on his place in Neb than his spread in Laguna. (Another slap at con policies) That's why Arnold got rid of him when he was on his election campaign. Buffet and Gate's father traveled around urging people to support the "death tax".

Classify him as a liberal capitalist. If he was a conservative he would be mean, petty and stingy.

    Kisses,

    HLF

  10. Why is a subject with zero political connotations one that the Jerk deems is a reasonable excuse for childish political insults?

The hateful liberal "mind" is absolutely amazing.

    Goddam liar.

Liars eat their own shit in front of an audience then claim they don't.

    HLF is a prime example.

  13. Thanks to an engineer who works for a capitalist, pixels are cheap as sand on the beach.

If it was up to liberal hate-mongers, a pixel would only be affordable by a limosine-liberal. The non-elite would be forbidden to even USE a pixel.

  14. Why don't they just cut them up for scrap and save us tons of money, or is saving our money against govt. policy.

This right here tells me he's loopy. Most people (all except one, actually) are not Warren Buffet, and have little enough to leave to their children, and that has already been taxed six ways from Sunday. Why should the government get one red cent of it?
    Answer: they shouldn't.

  16. click my name to see what's sheiking!

how will the twisted mint of HLF spin this?

  17. Without a "death tax" (which only affects massively large estates) you will have wealth concentrating over time creating dynasties similar to a monarchy. Wealth concentration is bad enough as it is.

I know how you people can't seem to keep from dropping to your knees when you see a wealthy person, so I see why you want to placate them and lavish them with your love and appreciation. It's a sickness you have.

  18. HLF, you of course would rather blow poor people

Your dentist takes it up the ass just like you.

There is no medicare for dental. And I don't take Medicaid.

  27. I liked this,

"There were folks on both sides of the issue," Ms Chapman said in a telephone interview.
    .
Does that mean the Free Speech issue, or the shooting Obama issue? I wonder?

  30. And...

I made it my business to offer my clients a method to legally avoid the federal estate tax as well as probate fees.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That's the thing about conservatives. They often confuse legal with illegal when it comes to money.

They certainly don't understand what ethical even means.

    Weeeeelllll...

Since I had several securities licenses at risk, you can bet your boots that anything I did in the way of advising clients on tax and estate matters was both legal and ethical.
