New Rule Protects Health-Care Workers' 'Right of Conscience'

Washington Post, Thursday, December 18, 2008; 12:54 PM

The Bush administration today issued a sweeping new regulation that protects a broad range of health-care workers -- from doctors to janitors -- who refuse to participate in providing services that they believe violate their personal, moral or religious beliefs.

The controversial rule empowers federal health officials to cut off federal funding for any state or local government, hospital, clinic, health plan, doctor's office or other entity if it does not accommodate employees who exercise their "right of conscience." It would apply to more than 584,000 health-care facilities.

"Doctors and other health care providers should not be forced to choose between good professional standing and violating their conscience," Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt said in a statement.

  5. Bout time! Speaking of doctors, MY TOOTH HURTS! (well not all the time but when it hurts it HURTS) And so tomorrow I need to trudge out in anything from rain to winrty mix to snow depending on what weather channel you watch and go to my dentist. I have a bad feeling its my capped tooth (which never had a root canal) but for me atleast dental pain is so hard to pinpoint that it can be one of the teeth next to it. I just hope its not my wisdom tooth, which actually came in straight and normal and has a functional role in my mouth. Why am I saying all of this? Because I have a feeling tomorrow will be my first root canal ever and I just wanted to share that special moment with you all, especially SRK.

  6. If you really wanted to share the intimacy, you only have to come to NYC

  7. This just in:

HLF got a job in the Bermuda Triangle.

  8. And lose my root canal virginity to you? If it is my capped tooth, you would drill through another man's crown? If it is my wisdom tooth, would you go against standard care and fix a wisdom tooth? Can I trust you near my tongue with drills and other instruments? I mean we have argued a lot.

  9. This reminds me... It's time to get my tooth cleaned.

I'll drop it in a cup of bleach tonight.

  10. No offense Billy O, but I hate the dentists office. They stick their hands in my mouth, who knows where they've been!!

  11. My dentist is a techno geek of the first magnitude. He has a stylus attached to his computer that he can run around the surface of a tooth that needs a crown or an onlay. The image is transmitted to a machine in another room where a block of porcelain emerges from the base. A tool then shapes the porcelain block into the desired shape. A crown takes about two hours to make and set, versus the two weeks I'm used to. It ain't cheap, but it's certainly easy.

  12. Oh...

And, I'm easy but not free.

  13. yea.. cad-cam gizmo geeks.

still not as good as lab tech building of restorations.

Monochromatic blocks don't fit quite as well in many circumstances and esthetically ....non-esthetic. usually poor occlusion. color changes are surface only and not infused.

standard of care for a third molar is based on the individual tooth. If it is as your other teeth, erupted and in occlusion, they are uaually maintained w/in reason.

    no charge tosay, professional courtesy

  14. A conservative would say they should do their jobs or get a new one. No one forced them to take the job.

This reg will be reversed in about 37 days.

  15. understand something, homofreak, NO ONE will ever force me to do anything against my will unless they are prepared to die..

I contend this moron has absolutely NO idea what a conservative would say beyond the stereo-type planted in its empty head by other stupid dumbasses.

Dumbasses of a feather flock together. Not a brain cell in the bunch.

If they did it their way (the HLF stupid goddam dumbass shit-eating way) they'd execute everyone who wore glasses.

  22. Missy, i wish you well at the dentist. If he has to put you to sleep, remember to check your panty's when you leave. (you know how dentists are) If they're on backwards, call a cop!

  23. or schedule another appointment

  24. Are you same coprophiliac from the other thread?

    {look it up}

    ReplyDelete
  25. ...or, if one knows that coprolite is fossilized dung, and understands word construction, then they can understand that coprophilia is an interest or even sexual excitement from turds.

Which most likely describes anyone who has had sex with a nasty little turd like you HLF.

Yet another example of your superiority complex. The assumption that anyone who disagrees with you is ignorant.

    ReplyDelete
  26. OH, and Happy Little Turd, FUCK YOU.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I hide and watch here frequently.

I think Mr Bush waited too long to do this. He said he'd do it 5 or 6 ears ago.

Also, I think you folks are being duped. I think HLF is one of you, and you are getting twisted up. just to see who will bite. Of course, I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain I even know who it is. Or more to a point, I have two people I suspect of being HLF.

  30. Oh no, I'm not one of the gang. I just come here to reinforce my appreciation for being a liberal.

If a person takes a job and someone wants something that is legal, say a pharmacist is asked to fill a prescription for the morning after pill, and refuses, they should be fired.

Keep your lunatic ideas at home.

This regulation will be reversed Jan 21st.

    Kisses (especially for you Stevie!),

    HLF

  31. Go to a competing store you little shit.

  32. If your mother had come to me for the morning after pill, I would have given it to her for free.

  33. And you're an obvious partial birth abortion survivor. They got to the part of sucking out your brains and, amazingly, you lived!

In fact, that's where many new conservatives come from.

  34. If I went ot a drugstore or a medical facility and they refues to serve me for moreal reasons, there would be hell to pay.

Expect lawsuit city from this one and an overturning of the rule. Wouldn't be the first time we slapped down crazy con stupidity.
