A Settled Issue? Think Again

By now, we're all familiar with last year's SCOTUS decision in the Heller v DC gun case. It was a very close call (5/4) but it came down on the right side. Those of us who pay attention to such things knew the anti-gun Leftists wouldn't give up so easy, not after they've worked so hard for decades trying to disarm us. And we were right. Now their argument is that the Heller case only applied to DC and not to the states, and that the individual states have a right to ban guns if they so choose.

Those of us who are believers in the 2nd Amendment were worried about how that SCOTUS decision would come down, and were relieved when it was finally settled. Unfortunately, it wasn't really settled. In fact, this coming case will be "far more" important to all those who believe we have a right to keep and bear arms, and also to those who hate the very idea of law abiding citizens being able to defend themselves, their families, and their homes. Keep your fingers crossed...

So the rulings of the Supreme Court don't apply to the states, they just apply to the Federal Government? Then that should mean we can revisit almost every decision Scotus has made from Roe v Wade, to paying income taxes, UNLESS we live in D.C. right?

What pisses me off the most is the fact that people who don't like it here, won't just effing leave. They want to make us another satellite state of the uber liberal EU. Just move to France or the UK, you GD morons!

I once again repeat my tired, too often said, statement that ONLY a force of arms will turn this country around.

Steve, i think that's pretty clear to those of us who choose to see what's happening. It seems to be the only option we have left, especially if the new SCOTUS decision goes against us. And don't rely on Nov 2010, since only a fool would think the next election is going to change anything.

Scary shit my friend.

I often wonder if the colons of the Founding Fathers were this tight? I mean I'm willing to do what's got to be done, or willing to die trying, but, FM running, I don't like the possibilities.

The Founding Fathers had hope. Now we just have a dope. (And they said Bush was stupid. Better stupid than smart and evil)

...a possible rise in home-grown terrorism from “right wing extremists.”: ... “Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, ...those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.

I must be on the terror watch list. Government has gone hell in a hand-basket.

C Bizzle,
the problem is, that these sleazy pricks have managed to stand "facts and history" on their respective ears.

The fact is, people who 30 or 40 years ago, who would have been the mainstream, normal, law abiding, citizens are now labeled minority, fringe, extremist, TERRORIST. The people the MSM and the WH and Nanny Pelosi fear, are the ones who had "America, Love it or Leave it!" stickers during Viet Nam. I feel like I'm in the Looking Glass some days.

This is how Hitler marginalized the Jews if my historical memory serves. This is how you create the "knowledge" among the general populace that "X" Group is the cause of ALL the nations problems.

Personally, I shall continue to cling to my Bible and my guns. As will most of my friends and family. And live or die, I know my side, our side, is with history and has it right.

Patrick Henry had it right.

The far-left, and that now includes this government, has always used the trick of making their enemies look like a "small" fringe group of malcontents, psycho's, and now terrorists. This obviously creates for the public (thanks to the MSM) the false impression that they (the left) are actually the majority opinion, when they clearly are not.

IMO, one of the reasons the Republicans have been swept from power is their failure/inability/unwillingness to see and understand this trick, (and all the other tactics used by the left) and deal with it head on. Personally, i don't see the Republicans ever having the strength to deal with the left.

When two teams take to the field, and only one is playing by the rules, the outcome is pretty easy to predict.
