...and here's why...he's fantasizing about BEING Hugo Chavez!!

Venezuela assembly gives Chavez decree powers
.
* Socialist president given powers for 18 months
* Parliament also passed tough new banking rules (Adds details, background)
Venezuela's parliament gave President Hugo Chavez decree powers for 18 months on Friday, outraging opposition parties that accused him of turning South America's biggest oil producer into a dictatorship.
The move consolidated the firebrand socialist leader's hold on power after nearly 12 years in office, and raised the prospect of a fresh wave of nationalizations as the former paratrooper seeks to entrench his self-styled "revolution."
Chavez had asked for the fast-track powers for one year, saying he needed them to deal with a national emergency caused by floods that drove nearly 140,000 people from their homes.
But the Assembly, which is dominated by loyalists from his Socialist Party, decided to extend them for a year and a half.
That means the president can rule by decree until mid-2012, and can keep opposition parties out of the legislative process until his re-election campaign is well under way for Venezuela's next presidential vote in December of that year.
The president of parliament, Cilia Flores, said lawmakers must heed the appeals of families afflicted by the floods.
"It is raised to 18 months at the proposal of those immediately affected, the same people who are there relying on Comandante Chavez," she told the Assembly.
"So that they can have their streets, their highways, public services, electricity, everything to live in dignity, we are going to hear these proposals and concerns."
The vote was part of a legislative onslaught to push through bills before a new National Assembly is seated on Jan. 5. Earlier on Friday, parliament passed a law making it easier for the government to nationalize banks and trim their profits.

That, my friends, is US if the election hadn't knocked the wheels off Obama's little red wagon. Chavez is just like Obama, only shorter, without the tan. And skin color aside, scratch either one, they're RED underneath. right down to their bones.
.
I feel for the people of Venezuela, especially because they aren't as armed as we are. That will make their revolution back to democracy all that much harder. And is it me, or all those things the gub'ment of Venezuela is 'giving' the people, the same kinds of things promised by Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, et al? Here's my question.
.
Just how many people will Hugo Chavez have to murder to get the streets paved and the lights kept on?! Some millions is my estimate. History usually tallies them by the million, so shall I.

Isn't bypassing congress and the people and appointing his own czars, and using his own party (totally ignoring the other party) to ram unpopular and unconstitutional laws and regulations down the throats of the people the same thing? Maybe Hugo's pissed because he was out-Marx'ized by Obummer?
He dun beez de Munkey
You're right Spider, but Hugo is on top in the Marxist of the Year Contest. Chavez convinced HIS Legislators to give him a free hand. Ospenda, fortunately, didn't have that kind of clout, OR that kind of Constitution and Judiciary to be easily subverted.
Don't get me wrong, I still think he's an ass munch. But he's a more CONTROLLED ass munch now!
Barry did the same thing, except he made it look like it was all Reid and Pelosi's doing. That's why their approval ratings are, like, -15, while the American people still like Barry. So the biggest difference between him and Hugo is that Hugo is more honest.
More proof that Obummer is more Hugo than Hugo is.
