Stephen Broden, a "constutionalist pastor" from Texas who won the Republican nomination for Texas’ 30th Congressional District, made a vaguely threatening statement at a Tea Party event last year. He described the federal government as “tyrannical” and said that “we have a constitutional remedy. And the Framers say if that don’t work, revolution.”
Yesterday, a political reporter for WFAA in Dallas-Fort Worth asked Broden to explain whether he was actually calling for violence against the federal government. After a “prolonged back-and-forth,” Broden said a violent overthrow is “on the table”:
.“If the government is not producing the results or has become destructive to the ends of our liberties, we have a right to get rid of that government and to get rid of it by any means necessary,” Broden said, adding the nation was founded on a violent revolt against Britain’s King George III.
Watson asked if violence would be in option in 2010, under the current government.
“The option is on the table. I don’t think that we should remove anything from the table as it relates to our liberties and our freedoms,” Broden said, without elaborating. “However, it is not the first option.”
I think it's a last ditch option of course. But the entire concept that "violence is not the modern way", or "we're too civilized now" to resort to violence, is EXACTLY why the Progressives think they can get away with their plans. I'm guessing the gub'ments in Greece and France thought violence wasn't gonna happen there either. Is the UK next?

I agree 100%! The problem is, most of the American people have been so weakened, divided, and anesthetized that there's an almost zero chance of it happening. Glenn Beck was talking about this guy yesterday, and he said that violence should NOT be an option. Ever. (that's why I went looking for the articles) And honestly, I pray we get control by the vote, I really have and do. I can't imagine a worse fate than total anarchy, death and mayhem. But if we rule out violent overthrow, and re-capture of our rights, aren't we inviting being "ruled"?

IF the shit hits the fan, will the military, Secret Service, FBI, etc. , Support the President and the leftist Congress, OR will they side with those who want to SUPPORT and maintain the Constitution? They took an oath about protecting the CONSTITUTION against all threats foreign or DOMESTIC.
There is not one word about protecting elected officials against the people!! What do you think? Are the SS, FBI and military as pissed off as we are?

yeah, most people are cowed and docile now. And most are unarmed today. But, if the SHTF, there are enough of us with multiple guns to arm the currently un-armed if need be, don't you think?

As i've said before, today, our military and law enforcement people are young, meaning they've been exposed to (or educated by) political correctness. (where do you think Wikileaks get's info?) Does that mean they'll blindly follow their orders no matter what? Well, IMO, enough will to make it "really" ugly. We're not talking uprising any more. We're now talking civil war!
Of course, there are many who feel it's the only way to "clean" this country and get us back on track, especially if the upcoming (and totally corrupt) elections don't get the job done. The possible use of force by The People must not, nor should it ever, be removed from the table. The day it is, is the day we all become subjects. With the mid terms and the 2012 election, i doubt the average American knows what's really at stake.

The shirt hat and shirt both had the name “Bush” printed on them but not just any Bush but, that of George H.W. Bush.
The IATSE (Local 33) union fired the worker (a union member!) even after he explained the shirt to his bosses. The shirt didn’t explicitly support George H.W Bush but that of the aircraft carrier named after the former President and the aircraft carrier his son has served on for the past many years and is currently deployed. The union worker was interviewed on KTLA Channel 5 locally in Los Angeles.
The stage hand was identified as Duane Hammet and a distraught Hammet can be seen during his interview very distraught as his support for his son and his service becoming the center piece to his firing.
P.S. Within hours, the blowback was so intense that the union thugs reverted to damage control. With offers pouring in for interviews, the fired union worker was being ‘attended’ by some union officials whose task was keeping him, and his story, off the airwaves. Union thuggery and intimidation? Perish the thought.

you need to track down some of these kids and talk to them. My older 'kid' is a near 40, lifer dog, and trust me, he and his ship mates have visited this issue, and I'm telling you, you're dead wrong. They are not supportive of this Administration nor it's socialist policies.
The brain washed, liberal leaning ones are in liberal arts schools taking Social Work and Journalism, they're NOT in the military.
The leakers are obviously in a very, very small minority or this Wikileaks crap would be much bigger. The current leaked stuff goes right back to THE one leaker who gave them the stuff they leaked earlier this year. PFC Bradley Manning, by name. He did have help, civilian help.

You may be right about the military Steve, but i'm quite sure it wouldn't apply to todays law enforcement, most of whom have been totally (or almost totally) PC'ized. For all our sakes, lets just hope our mindless fellow citizens have awaken by the elections. Personally, i have very little faith in them, but i sure hope i'm wrong.

they may be PCized up there, and in other liberal areas, but in my area they're all still pretty old school, conservative. Most are ex-military in the SE states I travel, ergo, very conservative.

In an interview with Al Hunt of Bloomberg News scheduled to be shown Friday night, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. commented on the need for disclosure when corporate interests contribute to political groups.
“I was amazed at the amount of money, this $200 billion of money that is — where there’s no accountability,” he said. “When I say accountability, we don’t know where it’s coming from. There’s no disclosure, so the folks watching the ad can’t make a judgment based upon motive when you say it’s paid for by so-and-so.”
I'll straighten those women out.
As for Biden and his commentary, I'm concerned about where 200 billion is coming from too. I'm even more concerned, however, where 37 trillion is going.

you know what I've found about ANY disclosure discussions? If I go first with what I'm willing to disclose, the other party will usually reciprocate.
In that vein of thought, I think Biden and his side need to disclose FIRST, then perhaps others will be willing to play along.
(but you know the lying assholes won't do it...it's just about leaving the impression the Republicans are cheating or breaking the law somehow)

Sometimes violence IS VERY necessary.

I think GB is very worried about a violent overthrow, people hanging from trees, Dems in jail, regardless of "guilt" in where we are at that point, etc. Hell I'm concerned too. And as stated, I pray that VOTING, not SHOOTING, is the answer.
But to ANNOUNCE that you won't protect yourself, your family, your town, state, country, our CONSTITUTION with a gun, is exactly what the Prog's want. IMHO, it's WHY they've spent the last 60 years telling kids and women (mothers) that guns are evil, guns are dangerous, guns kill.
I hope GB is right, but I'll do what I have to do. I remember MY oath of office. Unlike most of our elected worms.
As i said a few weeks ago, i was watching Beck one day and he was going down a list of "atrocities" this govt, and it's agents, has perpetrated against the people. And when he was done, he said, "the ONLY thing that can save us is God!" That was the last time i watched his show. Apparently, he's a deeply religious guy, (i asume) but IMO, he's also detatched from reality.
It's bad enough that the overwhelming majority of American sheeple don't have the stomach (or the balls) to even contemplate the need to use force against the govt, even to save their liberties. But to have a so-called "conservative icon" telling us that the only chance we have is to turn the other cheek? He's done in my book.
Save for a relative handful of us, the chance of The People using force, even with constitutional justification, is so remote that will not happen, and DC knows it.

When it comes to the military there is a divide there too. There are very few liberals in the combat arms (infantry, armor, aviation, artillery) branches. The service support(finance, legal, supply, etc.) and combat service support (maintenance, medical,etc.) have a few, with the majority in the service support. Who do you think is the most proficient in their weapons, and have the biggest guns?
I pray that this never comes to violence. But I also have no question that the oath that I took 26 years ago was to the Constitution, not a poli-tick.
