As most of you know, I'm a miserable, old, crippled pain in the ass, with multiple pains in my ass. My list of maladies is fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and transverse myelitis. All lean toward being painful. The combination is a bitch.
.
I'm currently taking both methadone and oxycodone, along with neurontin and mobic. The oxy is new, but is taking the edge off. But I do not like taking this crap, I don't take it for the buzz, and I don't share!!
.
I used to go to my primary care physician for monthly refills on pain meds. In 2008, the NC Medical Board decided that due to pain med abuse among the population, and pain med scams, anyone with (supposed) situations like mine needed to see a Pain Management Specialist. I'm working my way out of my third such practice in 20 months.
.
My current place is a low cost, low quality pill mill. The medical professionals are less than interested in my health. I've heard people in there talking about driving in from hundreds of miles away. They are always pushing cutting edge, high dollar treatments and stuff I'm unwilling to try. (spinal injections primarily) But if you just ask, they'll jack your meds WAY up over a few visits.
.
Because we are known as state with lax rules, we get people driving in from neighboring states. Well the NC Sheriff's Association has an answer to the problem. They want access to MY medical records. As if I was scamming for scrip style drugs, I'd use my real name at a doctors office!!
.
Read the Comments Section, and needless to say, most folks are against it. And BTW, without Obamacare and the federal databases of records, would this even be a possibility? And does this mean it was all about power?
.
I'm shocked!

First, let me say that i'm a bit shocked myself to see these ads/commercials now showing here. WTF? Were they forced on us by our all-seeing, all-knowing, all-info gathering, all-tracking, google overseers?
As for my bud Steve, i see no reason for the Sherrif to have access to your medical records. In fact, i would say it's illegal, but then again, you are in NC. (every illegal in NYC is driving around with NC tags and drivers license) Then there's Obamacare, which pretty much does away with whatever little privacy people had left. Maybe a call to the aclu might help. This is the kind of case they live for. Be advised you may have to tell them you're a gay, leftist midget who's in the country illegally in order to get their help. If all else fails, start using some of that ammo you bought when the Sherrif shows up. If it gets real hairy, remember, Poots and i do make "house calls".

That's because we have fewer jobs now and WAY less social program money. And once they have the tag, the yearly sticker is one of the easiest to fake!
My local TV stations have yet to run this medical record story. At that, I'm not even close to being surprised.
