You Are A Good Person

Yes, you really are! Do you know why? Well, one reason is that you are going to supply brand new cooking stoves to millions of people in 3rd and 4th world countries. What's that you say? You need a new stove too but can't afford one right now because your job was sent to one of those countries? Well, nobody in your govt. really cares what you need, or want. Hey, maybe you could ask the governments of India or South Africa to buy you a stove.

It seems that Hitlary (i'd give my arms, legs, and any other part you might want to be president) Clinton wants to take $50 Million of "your" money and buy stoves for, you guessed it, the women and children. You see, they found some "scientists" who claim that millions, if not Billions of people, are being killed every minute because they cook over an open fire, and that the world would most likely cease to exist if we don't give them new stoves. Funny, i went through a picnic area the other day and didn't see one body. Then again, i'm not a "scientist". Note that there's no mention of how these stoves would be powered. Would they use wood, dung, or coal as they do now, and if so, where's the improvement? Or would "some other" fuel source be needed? If it's the latter, that $50 Mil could easily turn into $50 Billion as it always does.

So remember the next time you're out in the yard throwing a steak on the grill. YOU AND YOUR STEAK ARE KILLING POOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN, not to mention adding to global warming. Oops, what is it called this week? You can now bask in the warmth of knowing that you're a good person, and that the world is applauding you. Or is that laughter i hear...

So let me get this right, every time I use the grill, I'm playing Russian Roulette with charcoal and burgers? Sounds like bull shit to me.

Ok, so they get a stove. Who buys the fuel? (as if I don't know) Here's a real hint at the future, I'm betting we'll all be using fires and wood before ling unless we vote out the current crowd of rulers, from both sides of the aisle.

Are these stoves carbon-neutral?

a few years ago, a bunch of do-gooders determined that by providing lots and lots of expensive farm machinery the Thai rice farmers in North Central Thailand could quadruple their rice output. Guess what, they were right!

But the Thai rice farmers didn't know how to run the machinery, didn't have the money to pay for fuel for the machinery, and didn't have the money for the spare parts to fix the machinery.

To top it off, they were too busy planting the rice by hand, then transplanting it by hand (which is part of the process they have been using for a millenia)to learn how to use and fix the machinery.

Millions of dollars of equipment was stacked in the corner of the field rusting, while the farmers complained about how much space it took up, that they couldn't plant.

BTW, I BBQ'd tonight. I much prefer charcoal over gas, it tastes so much better.

Reality, we spend the money and find out it is just like buying a pig a wrist watch. He doesn't know what to do with it. He might appreciate it, but can't use it.

Charcoal is the way to go. And I use a chimney not starter fluid.

Side Topic

I hate propaganda. And I don't care from which side.

This morning on FOX News they ran this story as the, "...in our next segment, 'Why does Hillary Clinton wan to give millions of U.S. tax dollars away by giving ovens to people in 3rd World Countries'."

OK it's accurate. But the VIDEO was from the appliance section of Sears or some such. Now we know, as misguided as she is on this idiocy, that's NOT what she meant. (and FOX knows it! so why go there)

Anybody watching knows that a Kenmore wall mounted oven won't work in a mud hut, 400 miles from the nearest wall socket! Maybe they should change their motto.

We slur the reports, you decide!

Just one of the reason i find watching Fox to be insulting even to my limited brain.

I watch a little of all of them to try to figure out what's really happening.
