No, this is not about James Bond. Well, not really. We've all heard the news about Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born traitor, Al-Q terrorist, and killer of American warriors, who recently had occasion to meet one of our Predator drones. By all reports, the meeting was loud and quite messy, but not for the Predator. Now, we're starting to hear whining from the bleeding-hearts of the Left which is to be expected. But this time, the whining is also coming from the Right! In fact, Ron Paul said it was, "the murder of an American citizen"! WTF!! As i've said, i like Ron Paul, and i do agree with a lot of things he says, but i will also admit that he can be a bit goofy at times, and IMO, this is obviously one of those times.
Now, is this an attempt to make the Marxist-in-Chief look bad, seeing how the order came from him, or does Paul (so far, i haven't heard any others on the Right say this) really believe we don't have the right to target an enemy combatant, in the field, and actually engaged in acts of war against the US, simply because he was born in the US?
Personally, if i were programming those Predators, i would simply input a destroy command for anybody with a beard and a towel on his head. But that's just me...

Remind me not to hang around your neighborhood wearing a bandana on my head!! The Predators are all or nothing!
I think he's being Anti-Obama on this thing. And I think he was looking sat the Constitution on this. Technically, they can't do what they did.
Li-thent Tew Keeeeeeellllllll
During WWII a few American citizens, of German descent, left the country in order to fight for our enemy. Does Ron Paul think it was wrong to kill them on the battlefield?
We don't need no stinking badges
When they went to fight America, they gaive up their citizenship
When they come in claiming to be born elsewhere so they can get student aid in order to be educated here, they give up their citizenship.
When they swear allegience to another foreign entity, they give up their citizenship
Good point Joey.
I would feel better about this if his citizenship had been revoked first. Apparently, it was not. Gotta consider the classic slippery slope argument here, as well. What if the definition of an "enemy" becomes loosened up a bit...and by who? makes ya wonder...
I give a fuck. He's muslim. He deserves to die. Don't give a shit here he is or was.
KILL MUSLIMS. Men Women and children. SPECIALLY THE WOMWN AND CHILDREN.
I think 'saying' you want to destry the U.S. and replace it with "X" is a protected right under the Bill of Rights. When you begin to take actions toward "X" it's treasonous.
Once you've sworn to do these things to another entity (Allah or Communism or the Great Cosmic OOGler) you have by default renounced your citizenship. Planning and carrying out plans to destroy the country makes you at once an enemy of the state and an enemy combatant eligible for lead poisoning at long range.
At least, that's how I was taught these things as a legal consideration by a Naval JAG Officer back when we were first dealing with Radical Islam, circa 1979 / 1980.
If you have any questions I'll be in the Faculty Lounge (my shop) re-building a Troy-Bilt Tiller and drinking beer until 4 PM.
