You know, I don't remember seeing one muslim while in Hawaii for 10 days. Hopefully Lingle will veto it if she can. The terrorists will probably laugh all the way to their first attack on America (Hawaii??) since 9/11.
Their objection was that Islamic Extremists were connected to 9/11?
How about that separation of church and state stuff the liberals are always screaming about!!!?? Is there a Christian Day or Jehovah Witness Day, or Jewish Day, or Buddhist Day!? WTF are they thinking?
We’ve all heard Poots tell us that “we just don’t understand the Chinese.” Well, I think the same stands true for Hawaiians. You have to understand – Hawaiians love religion – doesn’t matter the brand, as long as it’s religion.
Your typical Hawaiian is a mixture of Polynesian, Samoan, Chinese, Japanese, and Philippine. Being part Philippine makes them part Spanish, and most have a few white boys in the woodpile. Their gods are many and diverse – and being the type of people they are, they shudder to think what could happen if they pissed-off a god of any persuasion. As a result they worship ALL of them. It wouldn’t surprised me one iota if some of these folks didn’t attend ‘Temple’, ‘Mosque’, AND ‘Church’ every week, have a ‘Buddha Corner’ in their living room and a Hindu Shrine under the palm in the backyard. All while dutifully including daily prayers to Pele and Keoahikamakaua.
When we opened our Project Office, the company area manager held an Office Blessing – food, drinks, and ‘out-loud’ prayer to Kane, Lono, and Kamohoali'i. This was followed by the hanging of various stringed-herbs (leis) at strategic locations throughout the office. Over the Holidays the company actually had a CHRISTMAS party – about 200 of us in attendance – and to open the ceremonies the project manager recited an invocation of thanks and praise to Jesus. (Ha! Try THAT in New York or San Francisco!)
But it DOES tick me off that these Bozos gave the mooslims a ‘special day’, even though to a Hawaiian 'Allah' ranks somewhere between Kalaipahoa and Kaupe. :-)

Billy O,
only if they kill all of us, before we kill all of them.
No Steve, they won't have to kill us. Our own govt. will do that for them.
