I got this link from my good friend John McCleod, who is in fact my pastor. He's a young, smart, father of seven, conservative, gun owning, all around All-American, southern good guy, and he and his wife Stacey are home schoolers of that brood. John understands the need for strong law, the intact Constitution and also for self-preservation. He MUST, on a daily basis, protect a small community within his own home, he gets it.

It is impossible to address the problem of rampant crime without talking about the moral responsibility of the intended victim. Crime is rampant because the law-abiding, each of us, condone it, excuse it, permit it, submit to it. We permit and encourage it because we do not fight back, immediately, then and there, where it happens. Crime is not rampant because we do not have enough prisons, because judges and prosecutors are too soft, because the police are hamstrung with absurd technicalities. The defect is there, in our character. We are a nation of cowards and shirkers.

I like a man who is concise.
That's a well-written piece, and one that i agree with. Every living thing on earth has the God-given right to defend itself. Even trees and plants develop defenses against attack. But unlike humans, they are willing to use those defenses.
Because of the culture war that has been on-going in this country for several generations, and one that we've pretty much lost given how much influence the Left has over everything, most people have lost their will to even protect themselves. In fact, they've been taught that it's wrong to do so! I can't tell you the number of times i've seen law-abiding, "legally-armed" people, who were the victims of crimes, and who failed/refused to protect themselves. And on many occasions, the comment to me was, "why weren't you here to protect me"? My response was, "well, you were here long before i showed up, why didn't you protect yourself"? I received many civilian complaints for my response.
As we all know, those of the elitist Left, who always seem to have power and influence over us, have been trying to disarm us for generations. IMO, it's not simply because they hate guns, it's because their power and influence is threatened by an armed citizenry. Most of these powerful and influential anti-gun zealots are themselves usually surrounded by guns, but those guns are to protect them, not you!
Take "His Majesty" Bloomberg, mayor of NYC, the nations leading anti-gun psycho. His Majesty is "constantly" surrounded by a large team of heavily armed NYPD Detectives. Why is his life more valuable than the lives of you and your family? Because in the Leftist mind, his life is important, your's is not.
Another point most people don't/won't understand, is that the Police are a "reactionary" force, meaning, that in almost all cases, they can only act "after" the fact. By that time, it's too late. The posted article offers some very good advise. Take it!
I sent that out to 12 or 15 folks on my e-mail list. Folks on both sides of the political aisle. I have not heard even one word from the lefties. Most of the right minded friends were somewhere between Spider and BOW in length, and all in agreement.
It must hurt to be called a coward and have it stick, with no chance of outrunning it, huh?
In their world, they simply change "cowardice" to "compassion". That's how they manage to live with themselves.

Hey we can't fight back, if we did we would be violating the rights of the crooks. how dare you think it is 0k to protect your own property and family from some maniac. (Tongue in cheek folks). There is something seriously wrong when a system protects criminals better than it does victims. I say we all wear guns again like the old west. Make someone think twice before trying to hurt my ass.
