To paraphrase the old Communist Workers Party Bannner

.
Gutless SELLOUTS of Congress, Retire!!
.
Yeah, it's a stretch, but it's dead on. And commies is commies, so the shoe is an expensive, but good, fit.
.
Yet another fellow traveler / Democrat who helped push the Health Care Bill through, is retiring. But knowing full well he's toast in November, Bart Stupak is quitting. When the going gets tough, the wimps get going and take a HUGE paycheck and better health care than we will get, with them.
.
Rep. Bart Stupak to retire, putting seat in play
.

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), who had a central role in the health reform fight as the leader of anti-abortion Democrats, plans to announce Friday that he will not run for reelection, a Democratic official said. Without Stupak on the ballot, the seat becomes an immediate pickup opportunity for Republicans.

"Now with health care done, he’s retiring," a friend said. "He has thought about retiring for the last three cycles, but was always talked into staying: to elect John Kerry to help end the war, to elect a Democratic majority to get health care done."

President Barack Obama called Stupak on Wednesday and asked him not to retire. Stupak, 58, also resisted entreaties from Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the dean of the Wolverine State delegation.

.

This, I thought, was just too precious.

Republicans immediately attributed Stupak's decision to step down as a direct consequence of his health care vote.

.
NO!! REALLY?!
.
I have no delusions that the nine people left in Michigan will vote for any Republicans. Most of those left are minorities, without a car, or a job, living on free cheese. They'll NOT vote for a NON-Democrat.

Tax-free pension for life, and limitless health benefits for him and his family. Pretty good for a useless liberal wimp who is now hated by both sides. And why does this putz always look like he's about to cry? Perhaps he realizes he's a liberal?

Or worse still Spider, a sell out. How many does this make, 12, 17, 20, who voted their lives away and then quit?

If the Republicans had passed Bill "X" under similar style, against public wishes, then quit enmasse, the MSM would be calling their grandchildren's day care schools for comments. These "retirements" are barely making the news.

And don't forget campers, there are still many days until we vote in November. Plenty more time for gutless asswipes to run.

QUOTABLE QUOTES

"The government has no source of revenue, except the taxes paid by the producers. To free itself—for a while—from the limits set by reality, the government initiates a credit con game on a scale which the private manipulator could not dream of. It borrows money from you today, which is to be repaid with money it will borrow from you tomorrow, which is to be repaid with money it will borrow from you day after tomorrow, and so on. This is known as “deficit financing.” It is made possible by the fact that the government cuts the connection between goods and money. It issues paper money, which is used as a claim check on actually existing goods—but that money is not backed by any goods, it is not backed by gold, it is backed by nothing. It is a promissory note issued to you in exchange for your goods, to be paid by you (in the form of taxes) out of your future production."

Good try, but a bunt, at BEST Anon.

Two of them aren't retiring, they're looking for other jobs. Voinovich is a Specter type RINO.

Gregg is almost a RINO on most of his stands.

Bunning blamed the RNC, because the voters didn't give him money. I'm from Kentucky so this one I know about.

Bond is almost silent to his state and the nation as a Republican.

In the house, I know only a few by name or reputation. But MOST have been there TOO long. I'm a term limits guy, 12 and OUT at the federal level is my mantra.

And the penultimate difference?

NOT ONE REPUBLICAN IS RETIRING BECAUSE HIS CONSTITUENTS WANT HIS GD'ed HIDE FOR SHOES OR BELTS, HIS BONES FOR FERTILIZER AND HIS HEAD ON A PIKE AT THE CITY GATES!

"To each according to their contribution..."

Progressives seem to forget that according to the manifesto they support; they produce nothing so shall (in the long run) receive nothing. Their little lying gawd has simply left out the part about them eventually going to the furnaces with the rest of the dead wood. He needs them to help get control of us (the producers) then they are goners.

I wish people would wake up and see how dangerous the little Marxist liar-in-thief really is. But liberals are so stupid they run to the candy man with an insatiable appetite for all things “free”.

I know I've said this many times over the years - forgive my continually repeated redundancy; liberals are suicidal and want to take us with them. And as much as we despise their silly notions, conservatives keep trying to save them from themselves (thus preserving our own liberty and a damned good country). But the silly little bastards refuse common sense. They will have none of it.

I’m beginning to think we need to just let them kill themselves so we can start over.

Jimbo,
the part of this that I can never wrap my head around, is the NON-acceptance of the concept of diminishing returns.

How can they mis-understand that the fewer people you have producing, the smaller the pie gets? And every time these goofs get into power, they return to sucking the life out of the economy. It's like you say, they want to commit mass suicide. But why? What's the payoff, of ruling over death and destruction?

I guess I'm too fond of my life, no matter how mediocre, to WANT that life to exist amid ruin, mayhem and blight. And regardless of the blatherings of our resident troll, nor do I wish that on anyone else. Too bad he and his Messiah don't get it.

The only way I've ever been able to figure it, is to listen to the silly assumption that there is a Zero Sum Economy. But again, anyone who believes that...
