Student attacked with hammer at Southeast Raleigh High

A 17-year-old, who already faces an assault charge, is accused of using a hammer to attack a female student inside a modular classroom at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School Friday, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.
Angelo Womack, 17, of Raleigh, was arrested on campus without further incident. The victim was treated and released from WakeMed.

According to court records, Womack is awaiting trial on another charge of assault with a deadly weapon. The charge was filed March 20 in Wake County, and his trial is set for Jan. 21, 2010.

Ok, so they checked the court records, but couldn't remember what the charges were from March? Or, in their usual PC style, they'd rather not make this look any worse than it does.
IMHO, young Mr. Womack obviously needs to be behind bars, where he can live with the other animals. And I'm not saying send him to the Bronx Zoo.

But luckily, he didn't use a knife, a gun or a rifle. So, no harm no foul. I already said it was ONLY a hammer. And no one has EVER been killed with a hammer, have they?

It makes a huge difference.
After all a sledge hammer can be likened to an assault weapon, whereas a tack hammer would be not as deadly as a pea shooter.
I call forzero tolerance. All tools must be banned.That includes point things, like pencils!
...short handled mechanics sledge, 20 oz Estwing planed head, 6 oz magnetic head tack hammer, 10 oz, 18 oz ball peen hammer, and I know how to use them all.
I'm old enough that I was taught how to and I've used the small ball peen to hammer cut gaskets.
I've got some training on black smithing, forging and farrior work. But those hammers and tools I no longer have.

I'm still looking for the articles, but there was a huge gang fight at this school last spring. I think this moron was arrested then and charged with 10 or so others.

Well, looking at young Mr. Womack's picture, it's clear that he's the victim here, something ya'll missed. It's also quite clear that young Womack is poor, else he would've had the standard .9mm instead of a hammer, so i feel a little empathy is due him.
Now, if i had a hammer, i'd be hammering in the morning. I'd also be hammering in the evening. In fact, i'd be hammering all over this land! The only difference being, i would be charged with a hate crime!
