Let me point out that a lot of the stimulus money was given to states to shore up their budgets that were badly damaged by the bush/republican Depression. In fact, Texas, one of the most conservative of states filled 96% of their budget deficit to the tune of $12 BILLION in stimulus money.

The armed forces don't protect anyone in the bottom 95%, much less liberals in that caste. It's all about protecting the interests of the top 5%. They're the ones with the most to lose as they have been throughout history.
When a country is conquered it's the ruling elites who lose everything. No one else has anything much to lose and may even get a better deal from invaders.
That's why when an invading force starts to gain a foothold, the wealthy will collude with that force in an attempt to preserve their position in the social heirarchy. The rich don't care about country, patriotism or the bottom 95%.
