WTF !!

Had anyone ever told me that someone like Ron Paul would come to one of NYC's most radical, left-wing neighborhoods and be welcomed, and not hanged, i would not have believed it.

The East Village, (part of famed -or infamous - Greenwich Village) is home to most of the city's left-over 60's hippies, anarchists, communists, socialists, hard-core leftists, and all manner of bleeding-heart liberals. So how does Ron Paul, not only get invited to speak there, but is also welcomed? Is there that much anti-government sentiment coming from the Lefts base?

Personally, i like Ron Paul. I like what he says and how he says it. And, i truly believe he means what he says. That alone (IMO) puts him way above anyone else running. Yes, i know all the things that are said about him, that he's not "presidential looking", whatever that means. I think he looks better than the dumbo-eared Mooselamb we're stuck with now. Then, they say "he's not electable", which is pretty stupid. If enough of us have the courage to vote for him, he's very electable!

Change? I think he's a guy that can really change America. Not into the Marxist State we're becoming, but into the country We The People want. And if We The People don't know what kind of country we really want, then we deserve another four years of the Marxist-in-Chief...

He is the best man for the job we need to get done. Unfortunately, the voters are not good at hiring the best guy. They tend to vote for the two guys the MSM pick, tout and push to the front. There's a reason why the MSM has made this season about Perry and Romney. They hate TX governors and they can keep comparing Perry to GWB, while pushing Romney along because he is closer to Obama than he is to the Tea Party!

Just because you are an old hippie, or took acid, or because you are an old hippie who took acid, doesn't make you are a liberal.

Most of the real hippies moved away from lib / radicals early on, as the radicals didn't look too different to the hippies from the hawks!! The hawks, according to the radicals, wanted to kill gooks. The radicals wanted to kill the hawks by their own admissions. (insert Bill Ayers crowd here)

The hippies wanted to help each other, and be left the hell alone to live as they wanted. The radicals wanted to (and still want to) prove that Socialism would work if only THEY ran things.

I see much more of regular America in the hippie / freak folks (most of whom now own farms, restaurants, hotels, construction companies now) than in the radicals! The radicals are still here, teaching school or doing community organizing. (insert Bill Ayers crowd here)

And lastly, for those not in the know, Fingerpoots namesake and Village hippie reference Owlsley Stanley was killed in a car wreck last March 13th.

I know lots of (ex)hippie types, inc. yours truly, who certainly are not liberal by today's definition.
