FINALLY, a reason worthy of moving back to CA

Calif. Trick-Or-Treaters Warned Of Pot-Laced Candy.

Trick-or-treaters in California have been warned to watch out for pot-laced candy this Halloween, the Los Angles Times reported Friday.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issued the warning to parents in light of candy and snacks containing marijuana being confiscated from pot dispensaries.

The warning comes days before Californians vote on Proposition 19, a marijuana legalization measure.

.

If I thought I could go out dressed as an old hippie, (hell, I do anyway) and get some pot laced candy for myself, I might move back. But would it work? Going door to door, looking for dope hand outs...in March or July?
.
But, seriously, if YOU paid store prices for YOUR "Alice B. Toklas Brownies" at the High Street Dope & Munchies Emporium, would YOU give them out to a bunch of costumed, chanting, crumb snappers?!

WTF is wrong with people!?

I know you guys get tired of me asking this, but how in the HELL do you people live in NY?

4-Year-Old Can Be Sued, Judge Rules in Bike Case
.
Citing cases dating back as far as 1928, a judge has ruled that a young girl accused of running down an elderly woman while racing a bicycle with training wheels on a Manhattan sidewalk two years ago can be sued for negligence.

.

The ruling by the judge, Justice Paul Wooten of State Supreme Court in Manhattan, did not find that the girl was liable, but merely permitted a lawsuit brought against her, another boy and their parents to move forward.

The suit that Justice Wooten allowed to proceed claims that in April 2009, Juliet Breitman and Jacob Kohn, who were both 4, were racing their bicycles, under the supervision of their mothers, Dana Breitman and Rachel Kohn, on the sidewalk of a building on East 52nd Street. At some point in the race, they struck an 87-year-old woman named Claire Menagh, who was walking in front of the building and, according to the complaint, was “seriously and severely injured,” suffering a hip fracture that required surgery. She died three months later of unrelated causes.

.
So a judge, supposedly of sound mind, says a FOUR YEAR OLD, who will obviously have NO means to pay, can be SUED in a court of law.
.
The concept is both ridiculous and preposterous. And I'm wondering what kind of country would allow such things to occur.

A Totally Corrupt System

Well, we're about a week away from the highly anticipated mid-term elections, and cases of fraud and cheating are not only rampant, but increasing by the minute. Now i'm not saying it's all one sided, but i am saying that one of the sides in this election has a history of election fraud. It's the same side that is more desperate to hang onto it's power than it has ever been before. If you guessed the Demoncrats, you win a cookie.

I, and some others here, have been saying for a while now that since the Demoncrats (especially Obummer) and their radical Left-wing base have full power and control of the entire government, they weren't going to give it up so easily. What would they do to keep that power? IMO, anything and everything! Demoncrats are no strangers to election fraud and rigged elections. (remember JFK?) And they have become masters at the main ingredient needed for politics. Lying. Of course, all politicians, like lawyers and used car salesman lie, but the Dumbocrats have made lying their basic tactic. They use lies to keep their enemies on the defensive, understanding that in the court of public opinion, defending yourself, even from obvious lies, always makes you look guilty.

It's pretty sad that our political system, a system that controls much of our daily lives, (and more so every day) has as it's foundation, lies and corruption. It's even more sad that We The People tolerate it, support it, and perpetuate it. It's the kind of system that in many other countries, would cause the people to abolish it, and not always by peaceful means...

2nd Amendment? Not In NYC

By now, most people in the country are aware of the fact that Napoleon Bloomberg, NYC's limp-wristed, mega-Billionaire, Fascist mayor is the nations #1 anti-gun psycho. Aside from generating revenue and telling people how they must live, his other great desire is to rid the country of firearms. All firearms, except those of his dozen bodyguards.

As it is, NYC is now the toughest place (even worse than Chicago) to get a concealed carry pistol permit. The process is deliberately long, intentionally complex, and purposefully expensive, and all thanks to "His Majesty" Bloomberg. Although the SCOTUS's 2nd Amendment decision did deal a serious blow to His Majesty's hopes of an all-out ban, that doesn't mean he'll stop trying, as the enclosed article proves. God help us if he gets a job anywhere near the WH...

Joe Biden is certifiable!!

Guess what? Joe Biden says EVERY new idea in the last two centuries REQUIRED government intervention!
.
He's nucking futs!!
.
Oh, and he also says, they'll keep control of Congress. Butterfly nets anyone?.
.
“Every single great idea that has marked the 21st century, the 20th century and the 19th century has required government vision and government incentive,” he said. “In the middle of the Civil War you had a guy named Lincoln paying people $16,000 for every 40 miles of track they laid across the continental United States. … No private enterprise would have done that for another 35 years.”
.
I sometimes think Obama picked him to keep snipers away from the WH!

This is really long, but worth reading.

I thought this was a "crank" e-mail, but it checks out on Snopes.

Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day.

It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000

EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.

545 PEOPLE -- By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.... . The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace
545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ..

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power..

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

What you do with this article now that you have read it......... Is up to you.

(To shorten this, I removed a long list of taxes we now pay, see the Comments Section the list)

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.

Coolest R/C Airplane I've ever seen!

I'm posting this because we never do anything fun in here anymore!! And I'm sick of bitching about Communists and Socialists.

I'm not an r/c guy, but I've worked with a few over the years. Most of the planes look realistic sitting still, but don't 'fly' like their bigger namesakes. Too much movement up and down, to jinky in turns, etc. This thing has "weight" and it slides around like the real thing.
.
Here's a video of a model B-29, touted as the Worlds largest R/C Airplane. I can't verify that, but this thing "moves" like a full sized plane. I don't think you could tell it was a model without other stuff n the frame to set the size.

Want 50 Million Quick Votes?

Well, if you're running for office, and you're a Demoncrat, especially in one of the country's Leftist strongholds, the answer is a loud YES! So just how do you get all those votes? Easy. You push to allow non-US citizens to vote. Whether those non-citizens would be legal or illegal is "a bit cloudy" at this point, but it wouldn't take a political genius to guess the final answer. So what does this do to the voting power and rights of American citizens? It make a complete joke of them because we would have foreigners deciding who runs this country, even more so than we have now. Think this is too crazy to happen? Hey, you'd better take a look around this country and think again...

Is this candidate wrong?

Republican House Candidate Calls For Violent Government Overthrow If GOP Loses Election .
.
His name is Stephen Broden, he's from Texas, and he's read his Declaration of Independence.
.

Stephen Broden, a "constutionalist pastor" from Texas who won the Republican nomination for Texas’ 30th Congressional District, made a vaguely threatening statement at a Tea Party event last year. He described the federal government as “tyrannical” and said that “we have a constitutional remedy. And the Framers say if that don’t work, revolution.”

Yesterday, a political reporter for WFAA in Dallas-Fort Worth asked Broden to explain whether he was actually calling for violence against the federal government. After a “prolonged back-and-forth,” Broden said a violent overthrow is “on the table”:

“If the government is not producing the results or has become destructive to the ends of our liberties, we have a right to get rid of that government and to get rid of it by any means necessary,” Broden said, adding the nation was founded on a violent revolt against Britain’s King George III.

Watson asked if violence would be in option in 2010, under the current government.

The option is on the table. I don’t think that we should remove anything from the table as it relates to our liberties and our freedoms,” Broden said, without elaborating. “However, it is not the first option.”

.
I think it's a last ditch option of course. But the entire concept that "violence is not the modern way", or "we're too civilized now" to resort to violence, is EXACTLY why the Progressives think they can get away with their plans. I'm guessing the gub'ments in Greece and France thought violence wasn't gonna happen there either. Is the UK next?
.
Or us? Spelled U.S., of course.
.
I'm telling you, I think every elected MFer in DC should, everyday, think to themselves, "...shit, I could get shot for supporting the new HR 666 the "Fugg'em-they'll-never-notice-another-small- loss-of-freedoms Act of 2010."
.
And BTW, this is an ABC Affiliate station. It might be in Texas, but it's STILL the same network that hosts Babwah Wahwah, Whoopi, Joy, George Snuffleupogus, et al. Liberals are everywhere, even Texas. Having said that, I'd LOVE to hear the question that prompted that answer.

Pentagon revises 'don't ask, don't tell' discharge procedures

.
I've said it before, I'll say it again, gays in the military are NOT a threat if they'll do their job. If they don't do their job or cause trouble, kick them out just like STRAIGHTS who don't do their job or who cause trouble.
.
And yes I know the argument that they'll say it's because they are guy.
.
You'd have to build a case for discharging a straight person too!! Where's the difference? I remind anyone who would still listen, that these same arguments were used to keep blacks and women out of the service. The country didn't fall apart and we've not lost a war because of their admittance. And I say that as someone who thinks women should NOT be admitted!

The Illusion Of Privacy

Yes, i said the illusion of privacy, because with today's technology, that's all privacy is, an illusion, one that we maintain to give ourselves a false sense of security. It seems that everyone wants to know what we're saying, thinking, and doing, and that includes governments, although IMO, they're last on the list of snoopers. Your ISP, bank, credit card company, mail-order catalog company, (just to mention a few) all know far more about us than does the govt, yet oddly enough, it's only the govt that we resent. Why is that? Personally, i resent them all, but if you're anywhere near a computer today, it seems impossible to avoid.

The other night, i received what was most likely a computer-generated call to my unpublished, private home phone, the one that's listed on the "National Do Not Call Registry", from a political polling organization in Oregon. Oregon! I didn't answer. They called twice more within the next hour. Are computers exempt from observing my privacy requests? Apparently so.

Today, security, especially as it relates to terrorism, is the reason most often used when our "privacy" is messed with, or ignored completely. But what does my bank, or CC company, or catalog company have to do with terrorism? And how much longer will we continue to fool ourselves into believing that we have any privacy at all?

BTW, Is it just me, (and Steve) or is it getting awfully lonely around here?

Screw Free Speech, NPR Fires Juan Williams for Muslim Remarks

.
NPR terminated its contract this evening with Juan Williams, who worked with them as a senior political analyst, after Williams appeared on Bill O’Reilly and spoke of a “Muslim dilemma:”

The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”

Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O’Reilly.

He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

.
Williams qualified his remarks by saying in effect that, "...you can't say we have a Christian Dilemma, because of Timothy McVeigh".
.
When the TRUTH and someone's personal FEELINGS can't be said aloud without firings, the fecal matter is hitting the rotating wind machine for certain!!.
.
Here's the question, will Juan change camps now that his lib buddies have shown their true colors?

A little over 18 months ago I was introduced to the prognosticator Gerald Celente, via another blog. Celente is the trending analyzer who predicted the fall of the USSR, the Dot Com Bubble and our current economic mess via the Mortgage Bubble.
.
My look into Celente had me giggling to start with, then I re-read what he said. What he said was that we are about to spiral in, go down the toilet, and fall apart as a country. He predicted that, most probably as I recall, the EU would fall first.

Well, first Greece, now France and evidently soon the UK are fallen. Can we be far behind? Are we set for another Civil War? And I'll bite, if you think not, please tell me why the hell not!!

ON NOVEMBER 2nd VOTE THEM ALL OUT OF OFFICE!,

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand and the other hand pulling a male buffalo with the other. He says to the waiter:

"Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Sure, Chief. Coming right up."

He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.....
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere and then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns. He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling another male buffalo with the other.
He walks up to the counter and says to the waiter:

"Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Whoa, Tonto!
We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday. What was all that about, anyway?"

The Indian smiles and proudly says,

"Training for position in United States Congress,
come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull, leave mess for others to clean up, disappear for rest of day."

But, as I recall, he DOVE in WILLINGLY!! He just never thought the water would be so rough or that the fish would be so pissed off at his efforts.
.
Plus, he doesn't like Camp David, doesn't like (and probably can't run) technology and wants to set the record straight on Republicans. Let's face it, he finally has a job where he cannot hide behind rhetoric or "Present" only votes. And believe it or not, the NYT is reporting it. I'm supposing they want us to feel sorry for him, and the Dems, before Nov 2nd.
.
And best of all, as if I believe this to be true.
.

He also predicted that in the next two years, his administration would focus less on trying to pass new legislation and more on implementing and consolidating what passed in the first two years.

“Even if I had the exact same Congress, even if we don’t lose a seat in the Senate and we don’t lose a seat in the House, I think the rhythms of the next two years would inevitably be different from the rhythms of the first two years,” he said. “There’s going to be a lot of work in this administration just doing things right and making sure that new laws are stood up in the ways they’re intended.”

Yeah, and if a bull frog had wings, it wouldn't bump it's ass! Oh yeah, and as we suspected, shovel ready jobs were a myth. So where DID the money go?

SENIOR Citizens my @$$!

.
Well, well, well. After giving MY tax dollars to the worthless financial humps all over the country. who caused the economic problems, I find out now that I get NO yearly increase in my SSD check.
.

Senior citizens brace for Social Security freeze

.
Seniors prepared to cut back on everything from food to charitable donations to whiskey as word spread Monday that they will have to wait until at least 2012 to see their Social Security checks increase.

The government is expected to announce this week that more than 58 million Social Security recipients will go through a second straight year without an increase in monthly benefits. This year was the first without an increase since automatic adjustments for inflation started in 1975.

“I think it’s disgusting,” said Paul McNeil, 69, a retired state worker from Warwick, R.I., who said his food and utility costs have gone up, but his income has not. He lamented decisions by lawmakers that he said do not favor seniors.

“They’ve got this idea that they’ve got to save money and basically they want to take it out of the people that will give them the least resistance,” he said.

Cost-of-living adjustments are automatically set by a measure adopted by Congress in the 1970s that orders raises based on the Consumer Price Index, which measures inflation. Social Security benefits will remain unchanged as long as consumer prices remain below the level they were at in 2008, the last time a COLA was awarded.

Still, seniors like McNeil said they’ll be thinking about the issue when they go to vote, and experts said the news comes at a bad time for Democrats already facing potentially big losses in November. Seniors are the most loyal of voters, and their support is especially important during midterm elections, when turnout is generally lower.

.
I'm planning on going back to work P/T anyway, but this still pisses off. And I've NOT heard, no can I find information, about Congress UNvoting themselves their annual AUTOMATIC raise this year. Have you?

When Is Enough, Enough?

Have you ever heard of the govt. going after any of the radical groups associated with the Left, such as the Black Panthers, anarchists, radical Marxists, or the bomb-throwing EnviroNazi's even when their crimes are clearly captured on video? No, neither have i. But i do know of instances where the current Marxist govt. in DC, and the semi-socialist govt. that preceded it, have been quietly waging war against any-and-all groups on the Right that are seen as a threat to DC's power, be that threat real or imagined.

The below link, (if true) is something we "might" expect to see coming from N. Korea, Venezuela, Iran, or any other country where the people are simply powerless slaves of the state, assuming even they have the nerve to go this far. Even places like Russia and China have evolved passed this kind of conduct. If true, it is the kind of govt. abuse that pushes freedom-loving people to "action", and i don't mean voting...

Surprised?

As many of us know, most of the country's goofiest and wackiest laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to the environment, come from all those twisted little minds out there in Mexifornia. Whether it's what type of home you live in, or what you drive, or wear, or eat, the mindless Lefties out there have a rule or law covering it. So how are they able to get all those laws and regulations passed, including the ones that reach across the country and affect the rest of us? It's easy. THEY LIE! Well, they don't just lie. They misrepresent. They fabricate. They misinform. They distort. And they exaggerate, wildly. It's one of the Lefts favorite tactics. Don't have facts to back-up your claims? No problemo. Just make them us as you go, and have no fear, when you're part of the Left the MSM will not ask you to prove your claims no matter how nutty they are.

Case in point; A few years ago, NYC's Napoleon Bloomberg went on TV and stated, "400,000 children die every year in NYC from second hand smoke". No proof, no documentation, no streets covered with little bodies. And of course, not one word of challenge from the Leftist media, which is how they get away with making these bizarre statements.

"Don't believe everything you read, only half of what you see, and none of what you hear"...

If 91% of white people backed ANYTHING, the ACLU, NAALCP and all the other anti-American nut groups would be screaming their heads off. But racism TOWARD a black elected officials is not only acceptable, be allowed and lauded as their fair share.
.
(oddly, I live just 5 miles from Smithfield NC where, when I was a teen, there used to be a billboard supporting the KKK. Odd that it's NOT allowed, free speech be damned, not allowed for white rednecks to be nigger haters, but it's OK for black liberals to be nigger lovers)

Youth in Asia, ain't what it used to be! Then again.

One of the things I remember being taught about Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Minh, Communists, Fascists, and Socialists was that they were ALL proponents of euthanasia. I was taught that euthanasia was wrong and I remember people being OUTRAGED when abortion was made legal.. Hell I remember birth control pills being contraversial, now 90% of 7th girls are taking them, if my area is any bell weather.
.
Let's not mention when the Pope had the audacity to speak out against abortion. But times have changed. We've taken a step back 80 years to the 1930's and the aforementioned powers of evil.
.
Here's a clip of some "well meaning", pointy headed liberal saying she would smother her own child if it was suffering!! That alone is crazy, but look at the ClergyWOMAN sitting next to her. She's shocked, but says NOTHING!! Jesus would be spinning in his grave if not for that whole Easter Sunday rising from the dead thing.
.
Let me state clearly that I think suffering people should have a choice that neither doctors or lawyers should be able to interfere with, but NO ONE should have the power this woman advocates.
.
I'd love to talk to her kids, if she has any that weren't aborted. Tip of the hat to Glenn Beck's new "The Blaze" online magazine for this one.

America's smartest cities

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Ever wonder what happened to your high school valedictorian? He or she might just have wound up in Washington, D.C. That metro area has the nation's highest percentage of residents with college degrees.

Call it America's brainiest place to live.

In the District and surrounding suburbs, 47.3% of people 25 years or older have bachelor's, master's, professional school or doctorate degrees, according to new Census Bureau data released Tuesday. The national average barely tips 25%.

The figures don't surprise John Schmitt, senior economist with the Center for Economic and Policy Research in D.C. The city is built on jobs that require degrees.

"There's a very high share of federal government employees here," he said, "and people dealing with the federal government, including defense contractors, lobbyists, businesses that want to influence the regulatory process; there's lots of lawyers."

"Clearly, the biggest factor is still the presence of federal government jobs," he added. "But a lot of people in the 20s and 30s come here interested in public policy. There's an excitement about being in Washington, especially among young people who want to make a difference in the world."

Yeah, lots of lawyers, that's the answer! If you'll look at the charts in the article, you'll see most of Americas commie / lib enclaves. Who says there's no liberals indoctrination in college? If 80% of college graduates left with a degree and infested with FLEAS it would be called an epidemic. But getting them indoctrinated to vote to the left is called Higher Education!

Chucky Shumer FINALLY did something right.

.
And it only took him about 40 years of public service.

On Wednesday, the Senate passed a bill that will require television stations and cable companies to turn the sound down on commercials.

It unanimously passed a bill, co-sponsored by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), that would require commercials be at the same volume as the programs they interrupt.

In 1984, the Federal Communications Commission said there was no way to regulate the "apparent loudness" of commercials, but Schumer said, "TV viewers should be able to watch their favorite programs without fear of losing their hearing when the show goes to a commercial."

The House already passed similar legislation, though there are minor differences that will need to be worked out after the Nov. 2 election and before the bill becomes a law.

.
Why couldn't they do this months ago instead of monkeying around with health care?
