As many of us know, most of the country's goofiest and wackiest laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to the environment, come from all those twisted little minds out there in Mexifornia. Whether it's what type of home you live in, or what you drive, or wear, or eat, the mindless Lefties out there have a rule or law covering it. So how are they able to get all those laws and regulations passed, including the ones that reach across the country and affect the rest of us? It's easy. THEY LIE! Well, they don't just lie. They misrepresent. They fabricate. They misinform. They distort. And they exaggerate, wildly. It's one of the Lefts favorite tactics. Don't have facts to back-up your claims? No problemo. Just make them us as you go, and have no fear, when you're part of the Left the MSM will not ask you to prove your claims no matter how nutty they are.
Case in point; A few years ago, NYC's Napoleon Bloomberg went on TV and stated, "400,000 children die every year in NYC from second hand smoke". No proof, no documentation, no streets covered with little bodies. And of course, not one word of challenge from the Leftist media, which is how they get away with making these bizarre statements.

Does anyone remember back in the old days during the Oil Embargo, when DIESEL was the savior of the free world? Remember, it was easier, and cheaper, to make than gasoline, took you twice as far for pennies more per gallon? And it was FAR LESS POLLUTING than gasoline!! The fumes actually washed out of the air with each rain and acted as FERTILIZER!!!

(as to CalAir, I dealt with them when I worked at the CoGen in Taft, CA. Every CalAir person I ever talked to was a green zealot. Not just for their job or paycheck, they were like evangelists for green causes. I'm talking about them telling us we'd be fined for SHOOTING rabid coyotes or spray nests of scorpions!! Seriously, we weren't supposed to defend our lives. They gave us a number to call if we had problems. I hated it all.)

They were correct when they collected the data. While sampling the air quality, with all their bongs lit up like winter solstice celebratory trees and kwanza candles, the particulates of the exhaled medical marijuana was counted along with a few molecules of hydrocarbons from vehiculer exhaust.
