So Who's Protecting Our Military?

Doesn't that sound like a rather crazy question? Crazy perhaps, but certainly legitimate, and damned scary! As we speak, Rep. Peter King, (R-NY) is holding congressional hearings. The topic? Just how deeply has Al-Qaeda infiltrated our military? WHAT? Yes, infiltrated.

1) How many actual Al-Q members and sympathizers are in American uniform?
2) How many have access to "secured" American military bases?
3) How many have access to sensitive/secret military info, weapons, and computer systems?

BTW, i'm not talking about some obscure overseas bases. I'm talking about, "right here at home"! Sound nuts? It really does, until you stop and remember Ft. Hood.

For me, the question becomes, "will the weak, gullible, and gutless American people allow political correctness to destroy our military, just as it's destroying our entire society"?

The Departments of Justice and Education on Monday released new guidelines intended to help grade schools and universities "promote diversity" and reduce "racial isolation," even if it means students with the highest scores are left out.

"Providing students with diverse, inclusive educational opportunities from an early age is crucial to achieving the nation's educational and civic goals," the document states. "Racial isolation remains far too common in America's classrooms today and it is increasing," said Education Secretary Arne Duncan. "This denies our children the experiences they need to succeed in a global economy, where employers, co-workers, and customers will be increasingly diverse. It also breeds educational inequity, which is inconsistent with America's core values."

The guidelines, which are said to be consistent with Supreme Court rulings, explain that it's okay for educators to consider the race of students in "carefully constructed" diversity plans. Some of the examples included in the document make it clear that the goal of achieving diversity is more important than allowing schools to select the brightest students. Under the guidelines on admitting students to competitive schools or programs, the administration offers the following example: "A school district could identify race-neutral criteria for admission to a school (e.g., minimum academic qualifications and talent in art) and then conduct a lottery for all qualified applicants rather than selecting only those students with the highest scores under the admission criteria, if doing so would help to achieve racial diversity or avoid racial isolation."

Another example says: "If it would help achieve racial diversity or avoid racial isolation, a school district could decide to admit all applicants with grades that put them within the top quartile of their class at the schools from which the competitive program draws."For K-12 schools, the guidelines focus on school attendance boundaries, grade realignment and school feeder patterns. The guidance for post-secondary institutions describes how race can be taken into account in admissions, pipeline programs, recruitment and in mentoring, tutoring, retention and support programs.

Attorney General Eric Holder said the guidance will help schools provide true equality of opportunity: "Diverse learning environments promote development of analytical skills, dismantle stereotypes, and prepare students to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world," he said.

The new guidelines replace those laid out by the Bush administration in 2008...

Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich have promised to complete a nearly 1,950-mile fence. Michell Bachmann wants a double fence. Ron Paul pledges to secure the nation's southern border by any means necessary, and Rick Perry says he can secure it without a fence — and do so within a year of taking office as president.

But a border that is sealed off to all illegal immigrants and drugs flowing north is a promise none of them could keep.

"Securing the border is a wonderful slogan, but that's pretty much all it is," said Ted Galen Carpenter, a senior fellow at the libertarian Cato Institute. "Even to come close would require measures that would make legal commerce with Mexico impossible. That's an enormous price for what would still be a very leaky system."

Perry, the longest-serving governor of a state that makes up roughly 65 percent of America's border with Mexico, already knows that. What he's actually pledging, clarifies spokeswoman Catherine Frazier, is achieving "operational control" of the border — defined by the U.S. Border Patrol as areas where it can detect, respond to and interdict illegal activity either at the border or after entry into the U.S.

The U.S. Border Patrol says 873 miles of the border, about 44 percent, have been brought under operational control. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has said that "the border is better now than it ever has been."

OK Janet, if it's SSSSOOO good, then YOU move YOUR fat butt down there, and build a house about 100 yards from the border, and see if YOU feel like it's secure.

On the heels of Adam Carolla's rant, I found THIS story. It's actually a series of reports that took a few days to shoot.

In Tampa, this woman was evicted for having 12 of her children living with her in a TWO bedroom apartment. (ya' think) And then she was in a hotel room, bitching that she has nothing. BUT, their stuff is ON the street, outside that apartment! She didn't take anything when she 'left'? I've seen people get evicted, they throw your shit OUT and it's still yours. She's too sorry to pick it up, that's all.

Or at least make adoptions a hell of a lot easier. In one month from today, January 1, 2012, the United States Government, with all it's power, will march into your home and officially tell you what kind of light bulbs you are allowed to use. No, they will not be using armed Police or Navy SEALS to enforce this mandate. Not at first, anyway. They will simply ban the production and sale of the incandescent light bulbs we've all grown up with. Why? Because they say so. Can you just see old Thomas Edison spinning in his grave?

As an example of how the Left is always looking for ways to save us from ourselves, decades ago, the social engineers of the Left, using the govt. as they usually do, declared war on glass. Yes, glass. Glass bottles that carried milk, soda, beer, etc. were demonized to the point where they seemed to be Public Enemy #1. It's an old and effective tactic used by the Left, even today. Instead of glass, which they said would end all life as we know it, we were "urged" to use plastic. Plastic containers, plastic bags, plastic everything. Today of course, those same Left-wing social engineers tell us that plastic is killing us and the entire planet, and that we should switch to glass. (which BTW, can be recycled endlessly)

How, you may ask, can they come into my home and tell me what to do? Well, you might want to take a look around at all the other things they now dictate, like what to eat, what to drive, what to watch and read, etc. While we've all been busy watching TV "reality " shows, while we've allowed the MSM to inform us about what's going on, we've become exactly what the govt., the MSM, and the rest of the Left wanted us to become, a nation of weak, mindless, sheep. You see, sheep don't protest. They simply go along to wherever they're pushed and do whatever they're told to do. Stripteases, sexual favors, booze, porn mags, and fat stacks of cash would be run-of-the-mill in many Miami strip clubs. But at downtown's maximum security Federal Detention Center?

Multiple attorneys interviewed by Riptide say the FDC visitor rooms have been taken over by South American pole dancers posing as paralegals for wealthy drug lords inside. Lawyers hired by the accused narco dons allegedly list the scantily clad women as "legal assistants," and the FDC lets them in. Meanwhile, attorneys who refuse to go along risk losing their clients to lawyers with busty beauties on staff.

"They take off their tops and let the guys touch them," veteran defense attorney Hugo Rodriguez says. "The majority of these young, very attractive women are illegals brought in exclusively for the purposes of visiting the FDC. Any lawyer can sign a form and designate a legal assistant. There is no way of verifying it. The process is being abused."

The accusations are difficult to prove. An FDC spokeswoman declined to comment, and prison officials refused Riptide's requests for any incident reports on faux paralegals being tossed from the facility. But attorneys swear the scam is ongoing. One "discovery room" normally used to discuss trial strategy was recently closed, they say, after guards caught an inmate and a paralegal "discovering" more than legal documents.

"Everyone knows about it," says a private investigator who is familiar with the FDC and asked not to be named. "We call them the 'little hoochie mamas'... They are making a mockery out of the prison system here..."

Could "Red Dawn" Become Reality?

"This means Americans could be declared domestic terrorists and thrown in a military brig with no recourse whatsoever. Given that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized behavior such as buying gold, owning guns, using a watch or binoculars, donating to charity, using the telephone or email to find information, using cash, and all manner of mundane behaviors as potential indicators of domestic terrorism..."

For the growing chorus of observers who fear that a breakup of the euro zone might be at hand, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany has a pointed rebuke: It’s never going to happen.

But some banks are no longer so sure, especially as the sovereign debt crisis threatened to ensnare Germany itself this week, when investors began to question the nation’s stature as Europe’s main pillar of stability.

On Friday, Standard & Poor’s downgraded Belgium’s credit standing to AA from AA+, saying it might not be able to cut its towering debt load any time soon. Ratings agencies this week cautioned that France could lose its AAA rating if the crisis grew. On Thursday, agencies lowered the ratings of Portugal and Hungary to junk.

While European leaders still say there is no need to draw up a Plan B, some of the world’s biggest banks, and their supervisors, are doing just that.

“We cannot be, and are not, complacent on this front,” Andrew Bailey, a regulator at Britain’s Financial Services Authority, said this week. “We must not ignore the prospect of a disorderly departure of some countries from the euro zone,” he said.

There's a depression headed for Europe, and the last time there was a depression in Europe we got Hitler, Mussolini and WWII! God only knows WTF we'll get this time.

The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama's America looks like.

Arizona is taking on immigration once again, with state lawmakers collecting donations from the public to put fencing along every inch of the state's porous Mexican border in a first-of-its-kind effort.

The idea came from state Sen. Steve Smith, a Republican who says that people from across the nation have donated about $255,000 to the project since July, when the state launched a fundraising website that urges visitors to "show the world the resolve and can-do spirit of the American people."

Smith acknowledges he has a long way to go to make the fence a reality. The $255,000 collected will barely cover a half mile of fencing. Smith estimates that the total supplies alone will cost $34 million, or about $426,000 a mile. Much of the work is expected to be done by prisoners at 50 cents an hour.

The fence is Arizona's latest attempt to force a debate on whether the federal government is doing enough to stop illegal immigration. Key provisions of the state's contentious immigration bill were suspended by a judge, and Gov. Jan Brewer is appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court to get them reinstated. Brewer also signed the fencing bill.

Critics of the private fence plan say the idea is a misguided, piecemeal approach to border issues that will prove to be ineffective and hugely expensive. They point to the billions of dollars spent by the federal government to build fencing that hasn't stopped illegal immigration.

WTH is Newt thinking!?

First, a word about national security and foreign policy issues. They don’t drive many votes. Campaign professionals consider any day spent on foreign policy a lost day. Which is too bad given that whoever is elected will spend some part of every day as president on national security issues and often almost his entire day on dealing with America’s interests and problems abroad.

Former House speaker Newt Gingrich had the most to lose in last night’s debate, given his current positions atop most polls. But he continued to display the talents that got him where he is now: clear thinking, experience and a matter-of-fact certainty about what he would do if he were president. If he keeps this up, there will be talk about an anybody-but-Newt movement instead of an anybody-but-Romney campaign.

Yet the GOP universe is buzzing about the fact that Gingrich said America would not deport the 11 million illegal aliens already living here. Gasp! Is he pro-amnesty? Is he pro-illegal immigration? Of course not; Gingrich was simply telling the truth. We will not deport a population as large as the state of Ohio’s, and any candidate who says otherwise is either ignorant or a hypocrite, and should be penalized, not rewarded. Those candidates would need to tell us how their deportation plan would pass Congress and then how it would be implemented. We would need to know about the holding pens, the roundup procedures developed for law enforcement and how we would deal with families that have both legal and illegal members.

Gingrich may not win the Republican nomination, but surely it won’t be because of this issue. I hope the other candidates resist the urge to be dishonest or delusional enough to try to capitalize on what he said.

I like the trimmings. Whole cranberries are better, IMHO, southern style corn bread dressing, home made gravy, that crap in a jar is wall paper paste, at best. And if you aren't brining and frying your bird, I'll cry FOR you! At a minimum brine that thing.

Oddly, one of my favorite Thanksgivings was the year that we were stuck in San Diego and it was just me, Mrs Schteveo and our older son, then. No hustle, bustle or having to 'deal' with family.

The next year we were in Apache Junction, AZ., my wife's Aunt & Uncle. Good folks, no turkey tough. Slow roasted, whole hog, eastern Carolina bbq, PLUS Thanksgiving sides, AND all the BBQ sides too. That's probably second.

Signs Of A Dying Society?

This is a small story and one that probably went unnoticed by most people today. And, with the way things are going in our country, most probably wouldn't find it worth reading. But there's a much bigger story here, a story about a sick mentality, a twisted way of thinking, a national sickness if you will, that is destroying our culture, our country, our way of life, and yes, even our language. And that is what makes this little story very important. I'm talking about a highly corrosive "virus " that has infected large portions of our society. That virus is called, political correctness, and it is destroying the freedom and liberty we have the right to enjoy. PC is, IMO, the most vicious thing ever created and inflicted upon us by the Left

Things that were once simply fun to many are now "offensive " to someone or something. And in some cases, may very well be illegal! Today, the mere allegation of something "improper " can destroy someones life. People can no longer speak their mind for fear of being sued, fired, demonized, or perhaps, even arrested. To give a simple compliment to an attractive woman has become a "very high risk " activity, even if no offense was intended. The PC virus is spreading faster, and sinking deeper into our society than any medical outbreak that i've ever seen. It has already infected most of our institutions and our young.

Sadly, i see no cure in sight, mainly because (IMO) the American people lack the strength and the will to think for themselves, a fact that acts as a fuel for PC. The enclosed article is a good example of what i mean...

What Would James Bond Think

I wonder what 007 would think of today's CIA. There was a time when the CIA was the role model for most of the world's intelligence agencies. Then, back in the early 90's, along came Bubba and Hitlary Clinton who took a meat-ax to the agency. They gutted it and placed many of their loyal bean-counting progressives in positions of authority. Rules were changed so that long-standing, and highly effective, tactics were done away. In other words, the agency was "PC'ized".

To many around the world, especially intelligence professionals, the 9/11 attack was a sure sign that there were deep and serious problems at the CIA, since by all accounts, the 9/11 attacks were as much a surprise to them as they were to the rest of us. That should not have been the case.

Today, America is surrounded by some very vicious and highly-dedicated enemies, all with the same basic goal in mind. These are groups and nations who couldn't care less about "playing by the rules", as we do. They all understand that those rules, put in place by the elected, lying crooks in DC, are one of our greatest weakness's. And, they're right...

BONUSES!? Are they Barking Mad!??

A House committee approved a suspension of bonus packages for executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the two mortgage firms currently under the control of the U.S. government.

The House Financial Services Committee, responding to lawmaker anger over compensation at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, approved a measure that would suspend the compensation packages for executive officers at the companies. The bill also would require employees of the two firms to be moved onto a pay scale that lines up with federal financial regulators including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

“Awarding lavish pay packages to the heads of these companies that have accepted $170 billion in taxpayer cash can’t be defended,” Representative Spencer Bachus of Alabama, the panel’s chairman and sponsor of the bill, said today.

The panel approved the measure 52-4, sending it to the House floor.

The committee’s approval comes amid heightened criticism of the companies’ bonuses and pay. Edward J. DeMarco, chief regulator of the two firms, approved packages in 2009 that awarded a total of $17 million over two years to chief executive officers Michael J. Williams of Fannie Mae and Ed Haldeman of Freddie Mac.

Compensation for the companies’ top six executives totaled $35 million for 2009 and 2010, according to a report from the FHFA Office of Inspector General.

Pay to Decline

DeMarco, acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, has argued that the compensation is necessary to attract and keep executives and employees with the skills to manage a portfolio of more than $5 trillion in mortgage assets. He told senators today that pay will decline over time.

“My plan for executive compensation is to continue to seek opportunities for gradual reductions, particularly when executives leave,” DeMarco said in written testimony today to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.

The entire idea that they 'need' the bonuses to attract the 'best and brightest' is easily cast aside by the fact that anyone who is of the 'best and brightest' would NOT be in this mess! The 'best and brightest' would have seen, as did many of us among the great unwashed masses, that what they were doing was unsustainable. Fannie & Freddie became a house of cards that caved in and killed our economy.

And they want a bonuses for THAT? No way, no way in hell!

Marketing America: The ‘United States of Awesome Possibilities’

That's an article on Yahoo! News. So, WHO is 'marketing' the U.S.? Better still, WHY do we need to be marketed? Read on.

Say hello to the "United States of Awesome Possibilities."

That's the tagline for a new ad campaign designed to promote the U.S. of A., an effort to boost business and leisure travel in order to spur economic growth, Advertising Age reports.

The campaign, set to launch next year, is the brainchild of the Corporation for Travel Promotion (CTP), a private-public partnership formed to encourage tourism, with a marketing budget of $200 million. The corporation calls the push "the first-ever coordinated global marketing effort dedicated to welcoming international travelers to the United States."

The group said in a press release that the dots in the campaign's logo, shown above, create a "21st-century brand" which "symboliz[es] the boundless possibilities of the U.S.," as well as representing America's "diversity."

Hey, I got an idea how about we use some old 'tag lines'. Here's one I heard once or twice.

Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.

Or how about I make one up on the fly.

Everybody knows who we are, we don't need a fucking marketing campaign!

I really like that one myself. It's not short, but it cuts to the heart of my sentiment. And the idiot article goes on to say, even though the U.S. is a good place to visit or do business, we suck because we don't have universal health care.

College Profs don't like the GOP candidates, because of their economic stances. And you know what else? I'm betting they mostly vote for Democrats anyway.

Every 2012 contender attended college. They all graduated. They went to schools like the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Texas A&M, Morehouse, Penn State and Emory.

But decades have passed since these Presidential candidates first stepped onto campus as freshmen. Is it time for an Econ 101 refresher course?

America's Econ 101 professors say yes. In their view, the candidates continue to offer ideas and policies that wouldn't pass muster in their classes -- populated by 18 year-old college students.

"There are so many economic 'misstatements' being made," said Jonathan Lanning, a professor at Bryn Mawr who is teaching two introductory economics classes this semester. "And it isn't confined to any one candidate."

I like the fact that guys who TEACH are saying guys who have run businesses are the ones who are wrong. I'd like to just walk up to these college idiots, laugh in their faces and walk away.

Ok so their going to 'take over' the radio & TV tomorrow. Who's going to MAKE them turn it BACK on?! ...not to mention, if they turn OFF all radio & TV tomorrow, why WON'T they do it some day WITHOUT telling us "...it's JUST a test..."? It's the perfect answer to taking control.

I'm telling you, here & now, this is the 21st Century equivalent of Good King George taking control of ALL the printing presses in Colonial America. I seem to remember that when he tried,

A.) He tried doing so, more than once, starting small initially.

B.) There was a huge FIGHT and the guys who owned the printing presses, being at the time good Englishmen and subjects of the Crown, told GKG to bugger off!

I'm in line with that, but not being an Englishman, I'll shorten that 6 letter 'b-u-g-g-e-r', to just 4 letters. I doubt I need to tell you which ones.
