The Time Warner Center Facilities Department advises that bed bugs have been detected in Time Warner Center. This determination was made after testing was conducted on several floors of the building. In response, Time Warner Facilities is working with pest control providers to address the issue in an environmentally safe manner, and during non-working hours. Generally, bed bugs do not carry or transmit disease. Information about bed bugs and their eradication is available at http://home2.nyc.gov/html/doh/downloads/pdf/vector/vector-faq1.pdfIf you have questions, please contact your HR adviser. And be assured that Turner Broadcasting is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

I do disagree with this...Generally, bed bugs do not carry or transmit disease...and here's why. My brother lived in a cheap @$$ apt in MN for about 6 months. His place had these little buggers. He contacted the flesh eating staff infection from them. His doctor told him that was the usual problem, besides the itching bites of course. So, the statement seems bogus to me.
.
But ain't it funny, that they've got bugs at CNN!!?

Dear Abby-Schteveo;

I'm still trying to figure out the correct caliber to use on bedbugs.

.44 is a little extreem. Blows a damned whole plumb through the bed and then the floor.

.22 does pretty much the same thing, but doesn't hurt the floor alot if the matress is 10"+... but the kill rate is 50% the .44.

(I know them things - I learned arithmetic once.)

I'm considering a nookyouliar devise, but I haven't found one that won't adversly affect my next door neighbor's garden.

My question is... do you know if mustard gas works? I got all the stuff in my barn to grow mustard.

Yore frind,
Bubba

In the last few weeks, several large and well-known NYC department stores and hotels have also become infested with BB's. Could it be the result of being a sanctuary city with a few million illegals? Nah.

wait a minute if illegal aliens brought the bedbugs into the country, then they are illegal bedbugs who have rights!!!
You can not kill them - they are just doing the jobs that American bedbugs won't do.

Even airlines are having difficutly finding crews to stay the night in the area.

A flight attendant friend of mine was there a couple weeks ago and is on convalecent (sp) leave for the next 2 weeks due to an infestation at her hotel. Initially they denied her claim, now in light of other events it has been approved for workmen's comp. To make matters worse her bags were possibly infested so she has to go through the whole de-infestation process at home too!

I have the answer as to WHY we have this infestation, and it's nationwide friends.

Remember back when you was a kid. Mom sprayed Raid, Black Flag, etc. Well, thanks to Rachel Carson, moms no longer do that. Hotels no longer do that. Places of business no longer do that. Well, my exterminator, Bob the Critter Gitter, says that's why.

Mom now uses environmentally friendly spray, IF she sprays at all. Same with hotels, businesses, etc. The bed bugs we now have are descendants of bed bugs who lived through the old sprays, so the new "friendly" sprays mean nothing to them.

I remember when I was a kid, we had an exterminator come into the apts or rental houses. They sprayed the perimeter of EVERY room, under all sinks, and around all doors and windows. They no longer do that. In your home you have to ask them to spray the entire place. In the apt I just left they refused to spray the whole place.

That's nice country, but if the EnviroNazi's get their way we'll all be living like them.
