A group of more than 200 Japanese pensioners are volunteering to tackle the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima power station.

The Skilled Veterans Corps, as they call themselves, is made up of retired engineers and other professionals, all over the age of 60.

They say they should be facing the dangers of radiation, not the young.

It was while watching the television news that Yasuteru Yamada decided it was time for his generation to stand up.

The retired engineer is reporting back for duty at the age of 72, and he is organising a team of pensioners to go with him.

For weeks now Mr Yamada has been getting back in touch with old friends, sending out e-mails and even messages on Twitter.

Volunteering to take the place of younger workers at the power station is not brave, Mr Yamada says, but logical.

So What's Going On?

On Memorial Day weekend, when most real Americans spent the day enjoying their friends and families, and giving well-deserved thanks to our warriors, certain members of our society decided they would celebrate the holiday in a way they're more familiar with, rioting, robbing, fighting, shooting, and killing. The odd thing is, this didn't happen in just one place. This violence occurred in several different cities, including some cities that aren't used to seeing this kind of anarchy.

Back when the Marxist-in-Chief was elected, i said his election would be seen by many of the country's blacks as a license to do anything they wanted, and get away with it, even more so than before. Those same blacks, 97% of whom vote Demoncrat, have noticed how many of the governments top agencies have been put into the hands of blacks handpicked by Obummer, or the people around him who actually run the country. Watching the AG and the DOJ give a "free get-out-of-jail card " to the Black Panthers for committing a "clear and blatant" violation of the federal voting-rights law, in front of many witnesses and on video tape, was simply another indication to many blacks that they have nothing to fear from this govt.

Have they been watching the violent uprisings in the middle east and perhaps feel they can get even more from our society than they already get? (IMO, yes) And watching how weak most of White America has become, do they really believe that 12% of the population can dictate to the rest of the country, even when they use violence to make their point? (IMO, yes) You can also expect to see blacks become even closer to Hispanics, not because they love, or even care about each other, but because blacks on their own are intimidated by that 12% number. I have a feeling this may be a "very" hot summer...

I have received emails from an old friend of ours on at least 2 of my contact emails this evening which I (hopefully) shut down in time. They appeared to contain dozens of harmful viruses.

I would not put this up other than when I thought I heard from our old pal, all sorts of stuff was attacking my computer. Fortunately, I updated my protection earlier this evening, as I typically do on a regular basis.

I'm sure this is not an active or viable email address anymore, or if it ever was a real person.

Montana Bear Tragedy - a very sad story!

This is a very sad story about a bear.. Everybody should heed the warnings not to feed wildlife because they become dependent and don't forage for themselves any longer. An eastern North Carolina lawmaker is standing behind his characterization of the NAACP and its state president as racist.

Rep. Stephen LaRoque, R-Lenoir, sent a May 14 e-mail to the NAACP, in response to an announcement from the group about a Greenville news conference to protest budget cuts proposed by Republican lawmakers.

The announcement read, in part, "Tea Party extremists seized the Republican Party and declared war on African Americans, poor people and other minorities."

"I have no interest in receiving anything from a Racist such as William Barber," LaRoque wrote in his reply, referring to the state president for the NAACP. "He and the NC NAACP represent everything that is wrong with race relations in our state and country. You should be ashamed of yourself for continuing to promote racism but that is the modern day legacy of the NAACP as a racist organization led by Racist individuals who are Cowards."

Barber said Friday that he was shocked by the comments, but LaRoque said he has no intention on backing off.

"I'm sick of getting these race-baiting, racist-type action alerts, e-mails, whatever you want to call them," LaRoque said in an interview at his Kinston office. "The modern-day NAACP promotes racism. That's what they're doing. They're stirring the racial pot. It's where they get their funding. It's how they get their influence."

The Lies Have It

The almost obscure race to fill a seat in the US House of Representatives from upstate NY is done. It was won by a Demoncrat, but worse than that is the fact that this small area, way north of NYC, is one of the very few Conservative, Republican areas in the State. A third candidate was also running, one who "claimed to be" the Tea Party's candidate, although the Tea Party said they didn't even know him. It was the votes he took away from the Repub that seem to have made the difference. Could he have been a Demoncrat plant? I don't know, but if he was, and with the results they got, we can expect to see a lot more of this type of sabotage the closer we get to 2012. Perhaps it's yet another lesson the Repubs need to learn when dealing with the Left. If you're going to play by the rules, while the Left ignores them, the 2012 elections are already over.

The Repub candidate was seen as a shoe-in which is why the Dems sent in some heavy hitters and tons of money for support. They also used their most trusted tactics. Lies and fear. In this case, lies and fear about Paul Ryan's Medicare plan which they and the MSM have totally distorted. Attacking this plan with lies, distortions, and fear seems to be how the Left is going to deal with the very hot Medicare issue. Elderly Americans are the most vulnerable people in our society which is why they're being targeted by the Left.

As we get closer to the 2012 election, will the fear and lies work? (again) Will voters sacrifice their country for their Medicare coverage? IMO, yes...

A Toronto couple is taking this concept to a more controversial extreme by keeping the gender of their 4-month-old baby a secret. They have no plans to reveal whether their child named Storm is a boy or a girl. They say it will be up to Storm to deliver the news when he (or she) is old enough and ready.

Interesting Observation

While having my morning coffee and watching the news shows today, i noticed something that i found interesting. The Leftists on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show (i watch the enemy to see what they're thinking) were having two heavy discussions. The first one was, who the Republicans should run for the 2012 presidential election. Shame on me for not realizing how helpful Leftists are to us. It's kinda like Bernie Madoff advising you on which stock to buy. They seem to like Romney and unlike me, think that he should run. Personally, when i look at how the Republican Party is gearing-up for 2012, i think we have another four years of the current Marxist government ahead of us.

The other topic was how those on the Right were twisting and distorting what the Marxist-in-Chief said last week about Israel. They have already convinced themselves that HE really didn't say Israel should go back to the '67 borders! Apparently, the whole world didn't actually hear, what the whole world actually heard! Once again, we see those on the Left having to clean-up after their neighborhood agitator has shown the world that he doesn't have a clue when it comes to foreign affairs, or anything else. And on that WH meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu last week, they of course blamed Netanyahu for being "rude and disrespectful" to comrade Obummer simply because the guy stood up for his people and country. That's something unheard of for the corrupt liars in DC, and Leftists to do. They should rename that show, "Delusional TV"...

See, don't you feel better already? Freedom of The Press? Well, Maybe

Anyone who is honest and has an open mind knows that if there's one word that appropriately describes the overwhelming majority of the media, that word is, "biased". In fact, most would say, "highly biased", referring to the MSM's open support of, and collusion with, the Left. Yet, here we see a radical Left-wing, Marxist administration calling a newspaper biased! What could have caused that? Ironically, it was caused by, freedom of the press! This paper dared to think it was free to print what it wanted.

It seems the Marxist-in-Chief doesn't appreciate any part of the media liking, or giving notice to, anyone but HIM, especially since he's in full campaign mode. Comrade Obummer apparently feels someone who "may be" running against him is not entitled to the same media exposure, or any exposure, as he is. And, as in this case, if some newspaper should dare take notice of a political opponent, than there will be "an official" price to pay. One would think that the entire MSM would be up-in-arms over this assault on their freedom. But watching several morning news shows today, i heard not one word about it. Of course, had it been one of the left-wing papers involved, we would be plastered with the coverage. Biased? Hmmm...

A Bright Idea

So, the Mrs. calls you and asks you to stop by Lowes or Home Depot on the way home and pick-up a couple of light bulbs for the basement. No problem honey. But when you get home, she sees you standing there with a rather shocked look on your face, and no bulbs. What's wrong dear, asks the Mrs. Honey, the light bulbs are $50. each!! She now figures you've stopped-off for a few with the boys. But you haven't. No, you're not drunk. You've just run into the new regulations by the EnviroNazi's at the EPA.

That's right. YOUR govt. is now "ordering you" to buy certain kinds of light bulbs. Of course, the excuse is to save energy. But in reality, and like everything else this Marxist government is doing, it's really about, CONTROL! Control the people by controlling the products they use. Control everything they do, see, hear, and say, in their daily lives. And do they control us via the law? Not at all, because that would involve incoinvenient things like the Constitution, and the peoples representitives in Congress. We are now being controlled by "regulations", made by unelected, faceless, nameless, political hacks, with the full approval of the Marxist-in-Chief.

Body thought to be ex-Playmate's found in LA home

Los Angeles County coroners are trying to confirm that a badly decomposed body found in the home of former Playboy Playmate and B-movie actress Yvette Vickers is hers.

A neighbor discovered the body in a mummified state last week, police told the Los Angeles Times.

The body appeared to have gone undiscovered for an unknown period of time -- anywhere from several months to a year -- and investigators weren't able to determine if it was the remains of a man or woman, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.

Neighbor Susan Savage told the Times she saw letters and cobwebs in Vickers' mailbox before going into her neglected home in the Benedict Canyon area to discover what she believed to be the actress's unrecognizable remains.

"The letters seemed untouched and were starting to yellow," Savage said. "I just had a bad feeling."

When she entered the house, Savage said she moved through stacks of clutter before finding the body upstairs in a room with a small space heater still on.

Congress explained, all to well!

If you start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the cage, hang a banana on a string from the top and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.

As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the other monkeys with cold water. After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result ... all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it. Now, put the cold water away.

Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment... with enthusiasm.

Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, none of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.
Why, you ask? Because in their minds... that is the way it has always been!

This, my friends, is how Congress operates... and is why, from time to time, all of the monkeys need to be REPLACED.

Ariz. seeks online donations to build border fence

Arizona lawmakers want more fence along the border with Mexico - whether the federal government thinks it's necessary or not.

They've got a plan that could get a project started using online donations and prison labor. If they get enough money, all they would have to do is get cooperation from landowners and construction could begin as soon as this year.

Gov. Jan Brewer recently signed a bill that sets the state on a course that begins with launching a website to raise money for the work, said state Sen. Steve Smith, the bill's sponsor.

"We're going to build this site as fast as we can, and promote it, and market the heck out of it," said Smith, a first-term Republican senator from Maricopa.

Arizona - strapped for cash and mired in a budget crisis - is already using public donations to pay for its legal defense of the SB1070 illegal immigration law.

Part of the marketing pitch for donations could include providing certificates declaring that individual contributors "helped build the Arizona wall," Smith said. "I think it's going to be a really, really neat thing."

Construction would start "after we've raised a significant amount of money first" but possibly as soon as later this year, Smith said.

"If the website is up and there is an overwhelming response to what we've done and millions of dollars in this fund, I would see no reason why engineering or initial construction or finalized plans can't be accomplished," he said.

The nearly 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border already has about 650 miles of fence of one type or another, nearly half of it in Arizona. The state's 376-mile border is the busiest gateway for both illegal immigrants and marijuana smuggling.

Department of Homeland Security spokesman Matthew Chandler said federal officials declined to comment on the Arizona legislation.

No sense, or knowledge, of History

Find attached an article about a build up of Bird Farms. (Aircraft Carriers for you non-Navy types) But the writers makes several mistakes, not the least which is this sentence.

If I'm not mistaken, they became the backbone of U.S. Naval Power by about noon, Hawaii local time, on December 7th, 1941. Even after that day, and the refitting the Battleships, the battle wagons had had their day. The bird farms ARE and were the best use of floating steel.

Making them 'nuke-ya-ler' makes them that much better. Deleting the DFM they needed for cruising around both saves millions per year, per ship, on operating costs. We really should go to just two types of ships, nukes and gas turbines.

"There is no doubt that this man was a thug, he was a murderer," Imam Hassan al-Qazwini told worshippers at the Islamic Center of America in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn. "His hands were stained by the blood of thousands of innocent people — Muslims and non-Muslims alike."

Qazwini, who delivered his sermon in a large, circular hall filled to capacity, said the Quran is clear that someone who kills one innocent person "is doomed to hell forever." And the imam was particularly incensed that bin Laden "committed atrocities against innocent people ... while he was calling 'Allahu akbar,'" or "God is great."

"He's responsible for tarnishing the image of Islam in this country. He's responsible for tarnishing the image of Muslims," he said. "We're happy to see the man who caused so much pain for Muslims in this country is gone ... finally."

Before the sermon, he told The Associated Press that Muslims are discouraged from showing jubilation over death, but cheering the news of bin Laden's demise marks an occasion where "justice was served."

For years I've been saying people are steering their kids toward 'careers' that are already too full and under payed. I told them, and I told MY kids to go toward trades and particularly, trades where they can wind up working for themselves. Along those lines, working in industry or factory settings with a nod toward math, or science.

Here's my question for Americans. IF all our kids get college degrees and work in corner offices, who will build our homes, planes, trains and automobiles. Who will repair those things and do all the other stuff that guys with corner offices won't or CAN'T do?

U.S. manufacturing companies, long known for layoffs and shipping jobs overseas, now find themselves in a very different position: scrambling for scarce talent at home.

Large and small manufacturers of everything from machine tools to chemicals are scouring for potential hires in high schools, community colleges and the military. They are poaching from one another, retraining people who used to have white-collar jobs, and in some cases even hiring former prisoners who learned machinist skills behind bars.

Even with unemployment near 9%, manufacturers are struggling to find enough skilled workers because of a confluence of three trends.

First, after falling for more than a decade, the number of U.S. manufacturing jobs is growing modestly, with manufacturers adding 25,000 workers in April, the seventh straight month of gains, according to payroll firm Automatic Data Processing Inc. and consultancy Macroeconomic Advisers. The Labor Department's jobs report on Friday is expected to show moderate employment growth in the overall economy.

Third, the U.S. education system isn't turning out enough people with the math and science skills needed to operate and repair sophisticated computer-controlled factory equipment, jobs that often pay $50,000 to $80,000 a year, plus benefits. Manufacturers say parents and guidance counselors discourage bright kids from even considering careers in manufacturing.

My younger son is going to school now, for auto mechanics. He's also taking some welding classes. His welding instructor was telling him to SKIP the auto thing and just get his welding cert.

Welders are making $40K to $50K a year right now with 3 yrs experience. Hell, that's more than Mrs. Schteveo was making after the Dot.Com bubble burst and she changed jobs three times. AND there are more jobs than workers in trades.

(if you didn't hear it, it was because of the legal wrangling the left would have done and BHO having to go against them) Anyway, that brought me to this thought study.

How would the world be affected IF the following were to happen,

1.) instead of killing UBL, we capture him. (or we say we did anyway)

2.) after he is captured, he RENOUNCES Islam

3.) he accepts Christianity

4.) as a Christian, he reminds his former followers about that whole, don't kill the "people of the book" thing in their Koran

It may be that this sentence comes back to haunt him in the years to come. What is just about killing a feared terrorist in his home in the middle of Pakistan? For the families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks, and for patriotic Americans who saw their grand nation challenged by a band of criminals, the answer might be simple. But international law experts, who have been grappling with the question of the legal status of the US-led war on terror for years, find Obama's pithy words on Sunday night more problematic.

But Obama and his predecessor Bush never sought the kind of justice that would have seen bin Laden tried in an international court. As early as his election campaign in 2008, Obama swore he would "kill bin Laden" and finish the job begun by his predecessor after 9/11. "We went to war against al-Qaida to protect our citizens, our friends and our allies," the president explained on Sunday night. A US national security official didn't beat around the bush, telling Reuters, "This was a kill operation." And why shouldn't it be? The very goal of war is the defeat of the opponent, the killing of enemies through legal means. War is war.

In truth, it isn't quite that simple. And not everything that the United States declares to be war really is. Legal experts like Kress say it is "questionable whether the USA can still claim to be engaged in an armed conflict with al-Qaida."

The entire idea of a 'World Court' is plain old stupid to me. It won't work, it hasn't worked and anyone who thinks it will or can work, is either ignorant, or is a German legal expert.

Finally !

By now the world has heard that Osama Bin Laden is finally dead. His palatial compound was hit by a small, elite team of our Navy SEALS and CIA agents. Reports are that no prisoners were taken and Osama took a round to the head which put his lights out. I'm sure the MSM and the ABA are really pissed since they had hoped he'd be taken alive. In that way, they would've turned his capture into one of their usual circus shows, with leftist lawyers coming out of the woodwork to defend him, media talking-heads trying to show us his "human side", and some leftist judge whining about how his rights were violated because he was yelled at by one of the SEALS. Of course, and to no ones surprise, the Marxist-in-Chief is taking full credit for this action. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that it happened during his re-election campaign. Right?


It's also been reported that he was "buried at sea", which i hope means they threw his dead ass out of the chopper on their way back to their base. Personally, i would've wrapped him in a pig skin and hung him on the WH lawn. But that's just me. It's really nice to know that we have brave warriors like these, and that occasionally, they're allowed to "do the right thing". God bless 'em...
