U.S. Government Backs Warranties for GM, Chrysler

The government said on March 30 that it is guaranteeing the warranties of new vehicles bought from General Motors and Chrysler in a bid to boost consumer confidence and auto sales.

O.K. So you have some warranty work done on your GM or Chrysler. Sounds innocent enough, right? Next thing you know the government is telling you, "Wait! You can't do that (e.g.: hiring straight employees)! You have accepted government money so therefor you are subject to our rules." (e.g. You must hire some gay employees.) The government continues to use the economic crisis as a means of increasing its power.

Well said Lady-Bug, and right on the money! Last night, i saw president Obummer saying that the auto companies should go into Chapter 11 "if they don't comply". Translation: It's my way or you're gone! Why didn't he say that before giving them BILLIONS of our money? Or perhaps, is this his (the little socialist darling that he is) way of making sure that the unions end up in control of these companies, with even more power than they have now.

What Spider said.

Except I'm calling the D.C. idiots, a bunch of MFers for NOT allowing the car companies to go Chapter 11 last fall.

Will we be notified when all the billions and trillions they've taken from us are repaid to us?

Guaranteed by a gov't which is about to be bankrupt itself even if it has to spend every last dime along the way to achieve it.

Personally, I don't care, if i NEVER own another new car, I won't miss it. As a tax payer, I'm buying bullets.

When the shooting starts, I want to be able to protect my fambly.

And finally, if the fear was that NO ONE would buy cars from a bankrupt company, who will trust a company that is selling cars wih gub'ment backed warranties!? Only the Obamanoids.

Will the government offer road service too?
