I'm not Jewish, and this is STILL offensive to me!

It’s a turkey. It’s a menorah. It’s Thanksgivukkah!

An extremely rare convergence this year of Thanksgiving and the start of Hanukkah has created a frenzy of Talmudic proportions.

There’s the number crunching: The last time it happened was 1888, or at least the last time since Thanksgiving was declared a federal holiday by President Lincoln, and the next time may have Jews lighting their candles from spaceships 79,043 years from now, by one calculation.

There’s the commerce: A 9-year-old New York boy invented the “Menurkey” and raised more than $48,000 on Kickstarter for his already trademarked, Turkey-shaped menorah. Woodstock-inspired T-shirts have a turkey perched on the neck of a guitar and implore “8 Days of Light, Liberty & Latkes.” The creators nabbed the trademark to “Thanksgivukkah.”

Gee, how can they say Jewish, Hunnakah and numbers and NOT say Kabbalah!  Isn't there some kind of MSM rule that would require it be said or at least intimated?  And what about Madonna!!!  Shouldn't someone call her to see what she thinks of these Kabbalistic 'alignments'?

I'm betting the gutless f^*k who wrote that and the hand-wringers who approved it for distribution wouldn't make those kinds of flippant statements if a MUSLIM Holy Day fell on or near some Christian or Jewish Holy Day.  We certainly wouldn't wanbt to make light of a MUSLIM Holiday, would we.

Here's my question, is there any sort of African-American 'tie-in' associated with Christmas this year?  If so, I can get chicken at the grocery store any day of the year.  But where the hell will we get water melon to go with it?

Gobble Tov?  Seriously?  And just for the conversation, what is 'Talmudic frenzy'?  I'd like to smack the...

So now Thanksgiving has become a Jewish holiday? Do they really need yet another holiday? And, i'm betting that 9 year old kid who patented his idea is Jewish.

WTF? Is this what we are talling about? Madonna (and Bratney) went through a "phase". BFD. The fact that Hannuka and Thanksgiving fall on the same day is no different than when Hannuka and Christmas fall on the same day. And this is the ony time it ever happened since Thanksgiving has to be on the 3rd Thursday of November and the Hebrew calendar is on a lunar cycle, the only other time this has occurred was 2 years before the first Thanksgiving as declared by Lincoln. So...BFD. We plan to have our turkey and latkes at the same meal. (BTW, Hannuka was the first Thanksgiving)

You celebrate the Last Supper? That was a Passover seder.

Halloween was a Pagan holiday to celebrate the harvest. Just like every other culture. For us it was Sukhot. Same as the Harvest Moon this month.

Actually....based on anthropological evidence....and even the Catholic church (outside of North America), "Christmas" is actually in the spring. The holiday that we celebrate as Christmas was originally a pagan holiday as well...but adopted by the early Christians as a way to celebrate without having to worry about facing lions the next day.

Personally...let whoever celebrate whatever however they want to....so long as I am afforded the same opportunity. If they desire a "day off" to celebrate their personnal holidays....they need to be willing to give up the holiday that the don't recognize.

Easter and Christmas. I got pissed off over people slamming Hannakuh and Thanksgiving together and making light of the fact that we CAN have traditions, without 'hurting' anyone's feelings.

I need a drink...

They're not "slammed together" they coincide and are very similar in nature. I see no fowl.
