50 THINGS WRONG WITH THE WAXMAN-MARKEY CAP-AND-TRADE BILL

(besides Waxman's snout)

A Garden of Piggish Delights
Waxman-Markey is part power-grab, part enviro-fantasy. Here are 50 reasons to stop it.

The House of Representatives, famously, did not read this bill before passing it, which is testament to either Nancy Pelosi’s managerial incompetency or her political wile, or possibly both. If you take the time to read the legislation, you’ll discover four major themes: special-interest giveaways, regulatory mandates unrelated to climate change, fanciful technological programs worthy of The Jetsons, and assorted left-wing wish fulfillment.

Well I didn't read all of it, but I disagree with the statement in #11, that no-till doesn't effect carbon emissions. Unless you use a solar tractor, it WILL effect carbon output, when tractors, gas or diesel, are NOT used for tilling.

Whomever wrote this wasn't thinking.

I'm still against this stupidity, but lies, omissions and factual gaffes are the tools of the left. (usually)

There are other reasons for using the no-till procedure but it's basically one pass with a tractor versus at least two. I have no knowledge of this nitrous oxide issue but the weed issue is clear. If you till, you will exume dormant weed seeds, if you don't, only surface seeds may germinate, reducing the need for Round-Up, etc. No till also retains the organic structure of the soil, but mechanized farming really doesn't care about this, it's all about up-front cost when dealing with commodity priced field crops like beans and corn.

I'm not a farmer, but i don't believe this bill has anything to do with farming, and very little (if anything) to do with the environment. It's about power and control, plane and simple, as is the case with alomst every single thing they're signing into law. It's going to give the congressional commies the power to do just about anything they want, and as usual, make us pay through the nose for the pleasure of having them screw-up our lives.

Spider,
you're absolutely right. As usual, it's a power grab.
