Projected release date of November 14, 2139 and he's 71. Don't think he'll live to be 101 so let him eat cake!

I'm wondering if they'll ever get around to going after the others who were involved with Bernie, unless you assume he did all this, for all those years, by himself. To assume that would give Bernie credit for being able to do the impossible. But i think, to look deeper into this would make huge waves for some powerful people who don't want to get wet.

Spider,
according to the senior investigating officers, 98% of "money" transferred, paid, moved, acquired, etc, crossed his desk. He was supposedly a known control freak in the industry. But, I'm with you, it sounds fantastic, and absurd that nobody knew. But the SEC was fooled for 20 years. Then again, he also ran his "investment firm" with 1/3 the number of employees his competitors had, given the amount of money (supposedly) on hand or being traded.

It's all so convoluted as to be insanely transparent now.

I just heard on the local news that the poverty level for a family of 4 is $88,000. THEY'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

Lady-Bug, those "stats" are meant to justify the huge increases in welfare, food stamps, (30%) and Medicaid payments Obummer is handing out to his people. By raising the poverty level, it asures that not one of them will miss out on all the govt. freebies.

Thanks Steve. Must have taken the proverty level for 4 ($22,000) and multiplied it by 4. They still live better than most in any 3rd world country.

C,
I may have told this here before, but here goes anyway.

A local radio host, originally from C-eh-N-eh-D-eh, had a co-worker, the office janitor here, a lawyer there, who came from Kenya. When asked why he wanted to move from Africa, from family, from everything he'd ever known, to start over and have to return to school to, he told the radio host he thought America must be a great country, "...if EVEN poor people are FAT".

A fact, a shame and an endictment all in one phrase.
