Taxation, The New WMD

While this is a NY story, (for now) given the financial condition of most of the country's cities and states, and their insatiable lust to generate revenue, you can bet this will be heading your way as soon as your elected crooks see our elected crooks get away with this. It's yet another case of people being punished, via excessive taxation, for the personal choices they make which apparently have been deemed unacceptable by the "ruling class", ie: the Left. And, once again, the true motive of this assault on personal liberty is being hidden behind the mask of "health and jobs" as are all the things being pushed down our throats by the Marxists in DC.

I, on occasion, like millions of other people, find a cold can of Pepsi very refreshing. That doesn't mean i drink a case a day. (maybe a 10 oz can a week?) In fact, i drink far more cold water than i do anything else. Yet, the people who stay up nights thinking of ways to steal my money feel i should be punished via a tax increase. (we already pay a 8.75% sales tax here in NYC ) Of course, if i owned a hospital or headed a health-care workers union, i too would want to tax everything in sight if that money was coming my way. How else could i keep that new Benz in my driveway? As usual, they work their scam by saying if i simply bend over and accept this tax, i'll be "saving jobs". Of course, they make no mention of who's jobs i might be saving. But that's what blind obedience is all about. You don't ask, you just bend over.

Just to prove these things are not about health, but PC and politics, there's another tax increase being readied here, (about 50%) this one on tanning salons. Of course, the reason given is, "they are dangerous to your health". Whether they are or not is not the point. If you believe they are, you don't go, DUH! Along with tanning salons, it was suggested that different forms of cosmetic surgery, (ie: breast implants, etc.) also be taxed, as they are deemed "a luxury". Cosmetic surgeries of this type are usually reserved for the rich-and-famous, ie: progressives. Once it was realized that something progressives enjoy doing was going to be hit with a heavy tax, even though there are mountains of evidence and court cases showing the dangers involved with cosmetic surgeries, the lobbyists for that industry started howling. The result? Those procedures "will not be taxed"! Apparently, good health does not depend on what you do, but who you are, and what your political affiliations are...

Amerika is dying, and it will not be a natural death!

I'm offended by the concept that large breasts are luxury. Quite the contrary, they are a damned necessity!!

It's just more power grab BS. I'm ready to go to war. I'm resigned to the fact that it's coming. It's just a matter of when.

I just ran out and bought 26 2-liter bottles of coke. This should last about one year for my family and guests. Why did I purchase this now? Because it is the annual limited supply of sugar sweetened coke, not the high fructose corn syrup variety. Plus, it's a hedge against inflation

I wonder if these fools ever stop to realize how much sales revenue they lose by raising taxes.
