Is the DNC running Iran?

.
Iranian cleric urges executing some protesters
.
This seems a little drastic to me. But I'm not a Iranian Muslim Cleric, or a registered Democrat.
.
A senior cleric on Friday urged Iran's protest leaders to be punished "without mercy" and said some should face execution, harsh calls that signal a nasty new turn in the regime's crackdown on demonstrators two weeks after its disputed election.

Hard-liners have ordered long sentences and hangings before, and some fear those awaiting trial by a judiciary whose verdicts reflect the will of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei could face the most severe punishments the Islamic system can dish out.

"Anyone who takes up arms to fight with the people, they are worthy of execution," Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami, a ranking cleric, said in a nationally broadcast sermon at Tehran University.

Khatami said those who disturbed the peace and destroyed public property were "at war with God" and should be "dealt with without mercy."

No the DNC is not running Iran but Obama has sent Biden over there to take notes for the 2012 election...

Their hard line stance is not a surprise. These riots really scared the shit out of the leaders, and they feel if they don't come down hard, really hard, it'll happen again and maybe next time it will work. The protestors made a big mistake. This was their chance to take their country back, assuming that's what they wanted, and they backed off. Now they'll get picked off one at a time, and that will be that.

OT:
Spidey, You'll be glad to know that I was extremely disappointed in Fox News yesterday. They covered the child molester ALL DAY with no mention of the cap & trade bill which passed the house yesterday. I had to turn it off. BUT... I turned it back on to see what Glenn Beck was saying and the climate bill was the first thing he mentioned. "What better time to jam the Cap n Trade bill down our throat than on a Friday afternoon when Americans are not paying attention!"

Yes Lady-Bug, they were falling all over themselves praising the child-molesting, junkie, freak. And yes, Beck is the only one on that network that deals with what's going on in the country with any seriousness. Again, it's certainly not his politics that i take issue with, it's his personality/delivery. But that's just a matter of my personal taste. As i've said, i dislike Limbaugh for the same reasons, even though i agree with his politics also. Maybe i read Thomas Sowell too much and expect Limbaugh and Beck to be more like him?

BTW, did you keep count of the number of times he pimped his book, radio show, website, personal appearences, newsletter, etc.? I tried but lost count.

No, I haven't counted. I guess I don't really notice. Maybe I should. But can't the guy make a buck?

Spider,
in your comment, are "the leaders" the Islamic Clerics in Iran, or the DNC during the last convention?

Their rhetoric ALL sounds the same to me, ergo, the title of this posting. I see little difference in Khatami and Pelosi. His beard is thicker perhaps, but ideologically, it's the same.

Believe what I tell you, or die.

Lady-Bug, sure the guy can make a buck. I'm sure he makes tons of bucks, but (IMO) when it's done to that degree, it kinda cheapens the whole message.

You're right Steve. They're one and the same.
