Will It Matter?

THIS JUST IN:

The SCOTUS has just (reversed) the decision by Judge Sotomayor against the White firefighters in their Conn. reverse-discrimination case! Given the fact that her decision was so openly racist, i don't see how they could have done anything else. Will it stop her from getting the seat on that same SCOTUS? Don't count on it! (and for some odd reason, my ability to copy and paste seems to have disappeared!)

Apparently, my pasting ability has returned? Here's the story from the NY Daily News;

WASHINGTON — DEVELOPING: The Supreme Court has ruled that white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.

Here is the majority opinion written by Justice Kennedy;

Liberals will argue that this reversal clearly demonstrates why Sodomyare is needed more than ever as a supreme.

This may not get her rejected by Congress, but will she get pressured to step aside?

One thing we can bet on is that before the day's over, president Obongo's people and his media will go into full spin mode and turn this into a positive. They would have done it already but the MSM is still busy deifying the child-molesting, junkie freak that finally died yesterday.

Soooo... It looks like the decision came down to the conservative vs. liberal party line. Just one more liberal justice on the court and we really ARE screwed. I don't think Sonia's going to step aside based on Jimbo's correct observation.

Even if she wanted to step aside, the lefties won't let her.

Even though it was the majority - 4 people thought the decision was ok.

For a slam dunk - that was wrong - decision, those aren't very good results!

I cannot understand the thought process here...

Liberal: To discriminate against a person because of their skin color is EVIL!!!

THAT SAME LIBERAL: We must discriminate against people based on their skin color now in order to remedy the EVIL caused by people discriminating against people based on their skin color 40 years ago. But that's not EVIL, it's NOBLE.

ME AGAIN: Never mind that the white guy's kids will go just as hungry as the minorities kids if he loses his job, even if he is the most qualified candidate. Racism is just ugly, no matter which side of the coin you look at it from. Discriminating against people to help others is simply that: Bald-faced, ugly racism.

If the white guys were more qualified, then they get the promotions. If the tests were biased to let white guys score better, prove it! (Although, I suspect that in proving it, you would have to make some pretty offensive points, because you'd be suggestign that minrities are less cpable of understanding X than a white guy is capable of understanding X, wouldn't you? Isn't simply SAYING that the test was biased kind of racist?)

That depends on who's saying it Goob. To blacks and those on the left, biased means anything not in their favor. And if you give the exact same test to a racially mixed group, (as was the case here) and no blacks pass, that pretty much proves that blacks don't understand X as well as the other test takers.

Yes, the SCOTUS decision was a close one, but no surprise. It's the same four Leftists who (IMO) always put political ideology first. The 9 differed on what their decision should have been, but "they all agreed" that Sotomayers decision was wrong.
