Democracy?

This is not the first time i have commented on Michael Bloomberg, NYC's fascist little mayor, or as i call him, "the man who would be king". Fascist because, here in NYC, you either live as our "limp-wristed" mayor says you must, or you will be fined or taxed into submission. Once again, he has used his massive wealth, which he made by owning a large chunk of the MSM, (Bloomberg News, Bloomberg TV, etc.) to override and ignore the will of the people of NYC and "buy" himself a 3rd term as mayor. Now i'm aware that it's not all "His Majesty's" fault. It took a totally corrupt City Council to permit him to override two separate referendums voted on by NY'ers, in which they said their mayors are limited to two terms. They also said their City Council is also limited to two terms. (BTW, when the council gave His Majesty the green light for a 3rd term, they also gave themselves the same ability to ignore the will of the people. Cute!)

Of course, his insult to democracy also required the help of his pals in the Leftist MSM, and his political base, the socialists, Marxists, and communists of Manhattan who control much of NYC's politics. You see, everyone here knows that no matter what political hat Mike may be wearing at the moment, (Demoncrat, to Republican, and now to "Independent" ) he is, and always has been, a life-long, hard-core, liberal Demoncrat! It's that fact, and his membership in the MSM, that get the mayor a free pass from NYC's Leftist media.

Is this how democracy is supposed to work? Does political control of this country, and every aspect of the lives of it's people, simply go to the highest bidder? If you look at our corrupt, incompetent political system, whether it's local, state, or federal, the answer is obviously, yes! It's not the most qualified. It's not the most honest. It's not the most knowledgeable. It comes down to who can distract the weak, mindless voters of this country with the best commercials. If you doubt that, you're not taking in enough oxygen...

My property tax just went up another 26% this year. He said it was a modest 13.2%, but when you also see thathe raised assessments on the property values, the 26% figure becomes the reality. This is addition to the huge raises each year of his reign as well as every other tax this Bast*rd has brought down on us.

"If a man proposes to redistribute wealth, he means explicitly and necessarily that the wealth is his to distribute. If he proposes it in the name of the government, then the wealth belongs to the government; if in the name of society, then it belongs to society. No one, to my knowledge, did or could define a difference between that proposal and the basic principle of communism."

Uncle Fu thinks it takes more than JUST Bloomie's money to win. It takes a majority of weak minded fools to vote for the fool with money to burn!

Poor NYC.

So apparently, while I agree with you, the majority of New Yorkers are weak and mindless and therefor don't feel the same way you do.

You're both right. Not only weak-minded and gullible, but also very liberal.

What I don't get, is how can people be so liberal, as to thing the money THEY make should be someone elses'.

It's one thing to give a third party someone elses money, but giving your own? These people are inhailng to much CO1. (or maybe not enough)

Will we follow the Brits and their global warming hysteria?

"On Monday, 11/30, a British parliamentary committee proposed that every citizen be required to carry a carbon card that must be presented, under penalty of law, when buying gasoline, taking an airplane or using electricity. The card contains your yearly carbon ration to be drawn down with every purchase, every trip, every swipe."... Mark Steyn

Global warming hysteria? What about the 1,000,000 degree temperatures we will have when iran or nkorea get the bomb? The polar caps won't be melted, they'll be incinerated

Iran and N. Korea? What's going to happen when the Al-Qaeda cells in Detroit, or Phily, or NYC, or Mexifornia get the bomb?

Uncle Fu heard the Mulatto Youth say he will get us out of Afghanistan.

Will that not please the Jihadis? Won't they turn peaceful? Won't we regain our standing as nice people on the world stage? Surely they will like us then?!

Your old uncle thinks not. Then again, he's not as smart, as the young Brown Man in the old White House.

"Every moment of the “historic” Obama presidency has been wrapped in the rhetoric of failure and decline. A nation slipping into endless debt, to buy off the social concerns of the moment, cannot help but feel helpless and doomed… because it wouldn’t be so quick to mortgage a future it believed in. To accept the leadership of Barack Obama, either in Afghanistan or at home, is to accept that triumph is a fantasy, and achievement is a relic of the past, so the only rational course is carefully managed decline." – Doctor Zero
