High School students are applauding

.
All across America, HS English teachers are weeping, while their students cheer and applaud.
.
'Catcher in the Rye' author J.D. Salinger dies

.
If any boy in America ever deserved to be bitch slapped, it is Holden Caulfield. What a whiny, piss ant. He IS, IMHO, why people in this country now think things are owed to them.

What the hell are they applauding for? It is not like many of them could read the damn book anyway.Let's put it in a rap or hip hop song. The little idiots will never know the difference. Has anybody tried to talk to a high school kid lately? They can't string two words together without a "you know" every other word. Most of them probably think it is a story about shopping for a loaf of bread.

Completely off topic - did y'all hear the latest about pork? Eat more pork, do more porking!

Hmmm. Babyback ribs tonight, baby!

Completely on topic - 'Catcher' wasn't required reading in my rural Texas school days - notable required reading included 'Lord of the Flies' and 'Animal Farm'. Both are still among my favorites 40 years later.

Hey everyone! I miss you all but I cant see you at work anymore. It seems as though my employer has deployed the dreaded Websense firewall and it considers blogger.com to be a social networking site for some reason and is therefore blocked. I will still try to catch you all in the afternoons after work but I miss reading everyone's posts during the day. Wish I knew away around it!

MISSY!!!!!

We thought you didn't come here because Poots doesn't show up much to harass you!

Love 'n hisses.

I had to read it. TWICE!! Two different high schools. Anyway, just not interesting,

It's just not that great. IMHO.

I liked "Lord of the Flies" and "Animal House" better.

Tio,
you LIKE left out another youthful LIKE phrase...LIKE, how could you. And I try not to talk to anyone under 35.

Missy, it's nice to know you're still around, even if it's just part time. It seems you and Lady-Bug are the only two of our "ladies" who are left. Odd how you and Poots have wondered off at the same time. Hmm...

Hey, Sven's back!!

hola Sven!

Hola? Perhaps 'bokma', or even 'goddag' or 'hej', or maybe even 'pryvet'. But most probably 'halla' would work.

But saying 'Hola' to someone named Svenska, just seems like the wrong greeting.

[I'm guessing your next greeting for me is in sign language?]
