A case for the Tax Day Tea Party: The 2009 "Pig Book"

“Everyone in Washington has promised a new era of transparency and restraint in earmarks, from President Obama to the leaders of both parties in Congress,” said CAGW President Tom Schatz. “Sadly, the hard numbers from the 2009 appropriations bills tell a different story. The current Democratic congressional majority is following the same trajectory as their Republican predecessors. They came into power promising to cut earmarks, and made a big show of it during their first two years. However, as the 2009 Pig Book amply illustrates, pork-barrel spending is growing fast.”

Protest government spending tomorrow at your local Tax Day Tea Party !

Too late. You people should have been protesting government spending when bush and the republicans spent us FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS FURTHER INTO DEBT from 2001-2007.

Admit it. These stupid tea bagging parties sponsored by Dick Armey are just a tantrum because you lost the last 2 elections and now have NOTHING but childish behavior to compliment your profound ignorance.

There's a "get together" on the steps of the State Capital tomorrow a few blocks from the office. I think I'll stop by and lend a presence. I expect it to be fairly well attended. There are more conservatives in the state than you would believe, and Hawaii Democrats pretty much despise socialist liberals.

Too bad the liberal congress got us into this mess beginning with the 'House of Pelousy'. We were okay before they took control in '06. Voters are waking up. I expect a retake of everything over the years to come. That is, of course, depending on ACORN-type fraud and cheating.

Liberals spend all of their time protesting. Here in NYC the "Tea Party" starts at 7:30 PM, because the participants are waiting until AFTER WORK.

Um, HLF, maybe you forgot how people on this very site were just as against Bush spending.

We were okay before they took control in '06.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Bush and the republicans Congress added $5 TRILLION to the debt in just 6 years.

Oh, and the dems didn't take control of Congress until 2007. The ELECTION was in 2006.

And you expect us to believe they spent us $5 trillion more in debt witht one budget? LOL

This mess is the direct result of the last 30 years of conservative dominance with their supply-side tax policy, free-market voodoo and deregulation criminality.

Now, enjoy! Tell your kids and grandkids to enjoy, too!

Our local Tea Party was great! Great crowd who all showed up AFTER work, no violence, and all 3 of the major networks showed up. Maobama should pay attention... but he won't.

I agree with Pecos: Move to Texas where Gov. Perry is in support of states’ rights. "I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country, but, most of all, here in Texas, to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed through the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

An assault to my ears and nostrils, reading this crap is not necessary. It's not censorship to quiet offensive behavior.

So long as this nation of fools continues to believe everything they're told during a political campaign, they deserve everything they're getting. The half-breed in the WH, with the help of the media-maggotts, spent 2 years lying to them and they bought it all.

BTW, have you noticed how yo president always wears a black suit? Can you distinguish him from a member of Louis Fairykan's Nation of Islam army?
