Like rats leaving a sinking ship.

.
...and the exodus begins.
.
With the 2010 election year barely under way, two senators and one governor -- all Democrats -- ditched plans to run for re-election in the latest signs of trouble for President Barack Obama's party.

Taken together, the decisions by Senators Chris Dodd of Connecticut and Byron Dorgan of North Dakota as well as Colorado Governor Bill Ritter caused another bout of heartburn for Democrats as they struggle to defend themselves in a sour political environment for incumbents, particularly the party in charge.

As 2009 ended, Democrats watched a string of their House members announce retirements and one congressman defect to the GOP.

Let's pray it means victory. Just saw these headlines on MSNBC: "Democrats read the tea leaves — and jump ship"

That Duval line is one of my all-time favorits! He is also one of the most under-rated actors in all of movieland.

IMO, what we're seeing here is the political version of leaving the island before the tsunami of 11/10 hits. If it wasn't for Barney (meat-whistle) Frank's boundless arrogance, he would be doing the same thing. But gays tend to be obstinate no matter how wrong they are.

The problem for me is, even if the radical Leftists are swept from power, can the damage they're doing now be reversed, and are the available Repugnantcans up to the task. Personally, i doubt it, but anything is better than what we have now.

Spider,
I'm not so sure ALL the current GOP folks will survive the next primaries either. Many new faces to come, methinks.

I agree Steve. In fact, a lot of those Republicans are as bad as the Demoncrats IMO. They ALL suck!

And you're right Lady-Bug. If the house can't be cleaned, (completely) then rip it down and build a new one!

QUOTABLE QUOTES

The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one's real and one's declared aims, one turns, as it were, instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish squirting out ink."
