If you think you're about to be thrown under a bus...

.
...throw a guy named "Bush" under there first, to break your fall.
.
The MSMorons aren't exactly under the bus, except by the proxy of supporting all this socialist horse carp, but they must protect their leader, and themselves with anecdotal evidence that they're all better than anyone named Bush. In this case, and many others, the MSM points out that the Dems are NOT making headway on the economy. But they point out what happened to GHWB and the economy. What they fail to piont out is that it wasn't JUST the economy, it was one simple sentence that got Clinton elected, and sent Bush to the locker room.
.
"Read my lips, no new taxes!"
.
That was the part of the economy that sunk his re-election. The MSM does the same thing with EVERY topic and GWB right now. Taxes, jobs, world peace, dogs and fleas... But the usual line looks something like this.
.
"...and we admit that we're struggling with [enter BHO's problem of the day here], but GEORGE BUSH, OR HIS DADDY SUCKED MORE THAN US..."
.
All such statements said in that snide, whiny, I hate anyone named Bush voice all liberals have. Here's yesterday's installment of the We're Struggling BUT...Diarys.
.
Job Losses Mar Recovery, Create Woes for Dems
.
A distressed economy is widely blamed for President George H.W. Bush's re-election defeat in 1992, and a decade earlier, for the loss of 26 House seats in midterm elections by Ronald Reagan's Republicans. Yet in both instances recession had already ended or was winding down.

It's a point not lost on President Barack Obama's White House or Democrats headed into next year's midterm elections. The stock market may be up, U.S. service industries may be recovering, banks may be lending again and housing prices holding. But one major piece of the recovery puzzle is still missing: a brighter employment picture.

And that's bad news for the party in power, whether the recession is officially over or not.

Job losses are expected to continue at least into the middle of next year, likely driving the unemployment rate above 10 percent from 9.8 percent last month. It could take three or four more years for it to fall to normal levels.

.
The article has MANY more numbers, facts, projections, but it's all smoke and mirrors, and Chinese Money. But this has nothing to do with the economy, it's about the Health Care Stupid!! If they can keep people stirred up about jobs, they'll ignore that huge health care projectile aimed at their anal sphincter! Because if they pass this health care nightmare, the first procedure we're going to get from those worms in D.C., is a tax payer colonoscopy.

Good point Stevie. The Odumbo administration and his congress, (like most liars) deal in distractions. They keep you looking at the right hand, while the left hand is cutting your throat. Of course, they couldn't do this without the ever-present help of their media.

Here's what i'm thinking;

a) Now that the economy is slowly coming back, (even AIG is back to handing-out mega-buck bonuses) was giving away a TRILLION dollars of our money to private businesses really necessary, or would this have happened on it's own?

b) And since only about 14% of the so-called "stimulus" money was spent, where's the rest of it, and will we ever get it back? (LOL)

Spider,
I saw an article yesterday titled,
.
"The professions the stimulus packaged HELPED."

.
(emphasis mine) Written as if we were out of the woods and the stimulus money was spent and we were done!!

Leave it to the AP / UPI to be that blatant.

President Obama has a lot on his plate because George Bush made a mess of things, and this includes allowing a culture of greed to fester, the invasion of two countries, the loss of respect around the world for the United States, a diminished dollar, and a national economy on life support. It's going to take awhile to turn all this around.

Kittie,
golly gee you're so cute with all that psychobabble. But this ain't Huffington. Lemme dissect your diatribe.

"culture of greed to fester"

The world is built on a culture of greed. Always was, always will be. There are very few people who take a vow of poverty or who live below their means. If the worlds ENTIRE economy wasn't wired into ours, wasn't just as greedy as ours, then they'd have survived AIG, and ENRON, our past recessions and the Depression of 1929.

"the invasion of two countries"

I don't agree with all that's been done, but we didn't simply invade two countries. We retaliated after We were attacked.

"the loss of respect around the world for the United States"

OK, this goes back to the last one, doesn't it? IF things were so great BEFORE GWB, why the hell did terrorist blow up the WTC in 1993 under Clinton? Took hostages in Iran in 1979 under Jimmy Carter? Why did they attack two embassies and an American warship before GWB was in office? Clairvoyance? Magic 8 Ball? They just KNEW he was going to suck, so they pre-attacked, but how did they know?

"a diminished dollar"

This ties back to the economy. Which went to shit because of sub-prime loans, a darling program of the left, that was badly administered. Yes the other guys (Republicans) should have reined them in, I agree on that. But that makes ALL the elected worms guilty, not just Bush.

"and a national economy on life support"

See my answer above.

Kittie, you, like many uninformed people attribute failures of policy on the office of President at a level at which that office holder has NO such power. He cannot create wars, set up monetary systems, effect change, or institute laws alone. Congress holds the enacting power and the purse strings. Nor can the President create matter from nothing, even Obama hasn't done it yet, and he's almighty.

I don't think Bush was as good as some say, but he's not as guilty as you say either.

Mainly because he's not a dictator who has total control. Right now he's not in control, so why aren't the problems fixed? If he was in office, BHO would be in Chicago, selling pencils and GWB would still be in D.C. Dictators don't leave office due to Constitutionally mandated term limits. They generally take total power, dissolve legislatures and kill or muzzle the opposition. When did Bush do any of that? When did any American President?

Get out more, read up on how our government works, think for yourself. All you came here with was Democrat talking points. We're all able to swat them outta the park here at Annie's.

Well said Steve. Kittie apparently hit the wrong key on her keyboard and ended up here. Sorry sweety, you won't find any Kool-Aid being served here. Go back to Ariana's place. You know, the foreigner who can't speak english, hates America, hates capitalism, but so loves going to the bank 4 times a week, thanks to the gullible fools who pay attention to her communist drivel.
