Why the hell are they always looking for 'new sources of revenue'? Can't they cut expenses like any normal person? How deep do they think my pockets are?

YIKES!

The time to buy appears to be NOW.

Mrs. Jimbo just spend $30k on a new RV (Trailer). I guess we screwed the Obamunists by purchasing before they enact their scheme. Of course - I wouldn't put it past them to make it retroactive to everything everybody owns.

Investment advice:

'Rent-it Centers'

Hmmm... I wonder if you can rent toilet paper?

"A White House official said a VAT is "unlikely to be in the mix" as a means to pay for health-care reform."

That's liberal speak for, it's a done deal. And Rahm Emmanul's brother said it's a good idea? Well, that should be all that's needed. Of course, once the cities and states see the govt. do this, they'll take that as a signal to raise their own taxes. All this pain (for us, not them) just to put socialized medicine into effect.

I don't know about you guys, but the word revolution is going to be prominently featured in my prayers from now on!

This statement,

"It is also hugely regressive, falling heavily on the poor."

is shear horse shit. How regressive can a tax be, if your don't pay it!!

I'm all for a VAT, have been for years. A 2% VAT would reap billions from miscreants who now pay no taxes because they live off the cash economy.

I am for this in lieu of income tax, but I'm afraid this is not to be. It will be in addition to.

You're right Bill, this will be "another" tax. And they ain't talkin about no 2% either!
