Now that democracy is dead in Amerika, and we are being ruled by the all-knowing, enlightened, intellectually superior, radical Left, and thanks to PC we're no longer free to speak, are we still free to think? IMO, the answer is no! In fact, if you're not part of the far-Left, many of the things we now think have already been deemed "inappropriate and unacceptable" by our new masters, meaning they're just one small step away from being illegal. And under this new law, you may just end up going to jail for those thoughts. Yes kiddies, the hypothetical, and often joked about notion of a Thought Police is now becoming a reality.
The so-called Hate Crime Laws were invented not only to give gays special legal protections, but in fact, to make them a special class of citizens, with rights and protections above and beyond those afforded to the rest of us. Of course, if that law were created to protect, say, only Catholics, or fat people, or tall people, or left-handed people, it would be clearly unconstitutional. Apparently, the law makes special exceptions when it comes to political pandering...

I'm just sick of hearing that a "law" is about to be passed that will have "clergy arrested for teaching from the bible" because it's mean, out of date and might hurt someone's feelings.
I've been hearing this every 15 minutes for 40 years. And, "Do you think something this crazy WON'T pass this congress?", is the reason every time.

isn't it already illegal to commit acts of violence against a person? Why does it matter why you did it? I fail to understand why it is a different, more heinous crime that i beat the shit out of some guy because he's gay, or if I do it because i want to steal his I Pod. Fact is, when it's all over, he still had the shit beat out of him, and I've still committed a punishable crime!
