So painting all the roofs white is a good idea, huh? What about winter in cold places where the buildings that the roofs are attached to are heated instead of air conditioned? Or is global warming going to completely eliminate winter?

Having lived and traveled in both cold and hot climates, it's my experience that houses and buildings are designed and built with roofs, made for the prevailing weather. Very few BLACK roofs around Snorphty Central, same with white roofs up near Heidi!!
And just what kind of "paint" will stick to asphalt shingles, without causing some interaction or deterioration or need reapplication every year or so? Just the way my mind works.
Now I am not an expert in climate science, but if there was a greehouse effect where heat is trapped in our atmosphere by greenhouse gasses, wouldn't we have to paint the earth's roof white to prevent that heat from being absorbed or is a white roof going to repel heat from the sun all the way back into space passing through those greehouse gasses?
I don't have a home air conditioner, I ran my furnace for a total of 25 HOURS this past winter, and my roof is red clay tiles.
What do i do???

In temperate zones, where most of the US is, the net effect is an astounding ZERO!!!!Through the year, we go from needing air conditioning to heating. Or are they suggesting we paint our roofs twice a year?
Here it is, May 27th in NYC, and i'm freezing my ass off! With themps in the 50's for the last few days, and very very damp, it feels more like mid Oct. I'd like this Chu guy to let me know when global warming is going to start here.
