Long Absence

I finally found a minute to get on the computer and check in with you all. The last message I left said that I was going to the hospital to have my baby. It took 24 hours, but we have a daughter who will be a month old tomorrow (born 10/1). She's a very good baby, and our only issue is that she has acid reflux. Last Saturday she screamed for 12 hours. But now that we know what's going on, it's getting better. Thanks for all of your support. Hopefully it won't be another month before I get back here again!!

Congratulations Mom Heidi!! Congrats to Mr. ??? too.

Mylicon drops or the store brand equivalents are priceless if you haven't "found" them yet as new parents.

Nice to have you back Heidi, and all the best with your new baby. I wasn't aware a new born could suffer from acid reflux. I occasionally get an attack (really bad) because of what i eat, (onions for me) and i don't mind saying, it's really scary, as you can not take in any air.

What works for me, after having tried every known medication with little or no results? Two hits on a joint! In 5 minutes, it's gone. It may sound nuts, but it works for me. Unfortunately, i don't think this will help your baby.

For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt?

We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt'!

Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way.

Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, who married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc.

They had one son, Jack.

In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and because her kids were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.

Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Horse.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.

Now when someone says, 'You don't know Jack Schitt', you can correct them.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Except for Spider. I think we'll hold off on that one for now. :0) Our best effort so far has been having her sleep in her car seat. Of course, it looks strange to have a car seat IN the crib, but the screaming spells are almost nonexistent and there hasn't been any more projectile vomiting. (YAY!) And, Mommy can't eat some of the things she likes. *sigh* But, I will give up chocolate to avoid the screaming.

And, uh, Poots I assume? You're always such an educator...
