One from MY Backyard...

.
OK, as most of you know, global warming is dead, dead, dead along the East Coast. We had record cold and record snows, with more to come. In a number of places here and elsewhere, a State of Emergency was declared because of roads and power outages. But here in NC, we have an "add on" top our SOE laws. If an SOE is ordered, it is ILLEGAL to transport guns, ammo and alcohol off your property or premises. It is likewise illegal to sell those items. This happened recently in King, NC, during the blizzard.
.
But doesn't that trump the 2nd Amendment, not to mention common sense?
.
If there is an SOE, and you are forced out of your home because of the SOE, you have to go UNARMED. It is a rule, I would gladly and openly disobey. Sound off, this has caused plenty of grunting here in NC to be sure.
.
Here's another thought to ponder though. On my local 'Rush Radio' station, 106.1 FM, they were also talking about this from a news worthiness aspect. The entire morning crew agreed, as do I, that 5 or 6 years ago, this story would never have become national fodder for reporting. But more people are aware of, and are standing up for, that silly keep and bear arms thing. And these stories get passed around and talked about because people do not trust the current leaders of our country. And before someone says, "...typical, redneck, conservative, racist rednecks, rednecks, rednecks...", I will remind you [el trollo] that this state is heavily dominated by Democrat voters. As are all the redneck southern states.
.
Get your talk on, I've got to go clutch my bible.

I read this story yesterday and couldn't understand the connection between a comming storm, and having your 2nd Amendment rights nullified. Then i realized it was a perfect way to separate people from their lawfully owned firearms. Cute! And once "they" take control of those firearms, (for the community's saftey of course) God only knows what it will take to get them back. As Steve says, can a local ordinance over ride the US Constitution? They never stop trying!

QUOTABLE QUOTES;

"By removing the entire first century of American history from our children's textbooks, these radicals are doing more than just putting a "liberal spin" on things – they are trying to fundamentally alter the world view of future generations of U.S. citizens. They are trying to rip out American democracy by its roots and replace it with what Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer has dubbed the "New Socialism," the exploitation of climate-based fear-mongering as a means to facilitate a massive wealth transfer from American taxpayers to third-world governments, many of which are hostile to the United States."
– William A. Wilson

It's NOT "global warming" you neocon numbskulls - it's CLIMATE CHANGE! How many times do we ruling liberals have to change the name before you GET IT???

AND - What good will a gun or bullets do you in a snow storm? What are you going to do, shoot the nasty old snow flakes (which YOU cause because YOU fart and breath too much!)?

Keep you silly bibles though - you can burn them to keep warm.

At least "it" finally has it's name right.

Well, this is the same thing they did in Nawlins after Katrina, right? Disarm the populace, for the safety of the populace?

Isn't that kind of circular?

Felony Snowball Tossing Charges Lodged
Cops: Virginia college students pelted city plow, unmarked police car
FEBRUARY 9--Felony snowball throwing charges have been leveled against two Virginia college students for allegedly pelting a city plow and an undercover police car during Saturday's blizzard. Charles Gill and Ryan Knight, both 21, were nabbed by cops in Harrisonburg, where they attend James Madison University. According to police, the pair first targeted a city plow last Saturday afternoon. The driver responded by calling cops to report the frosty fusillade. When police responded to the scene in a bid to identify the assailants, their unmarked vehicle also came under an icy assault. Gill and Knight, a guard on JMU's basketball team, were then apprehended and booked into jail for throwing missiles at occupied vehicles, a felony. Gill (top) and Knight are pictured below in Rockingham County Sheriff's Office mug shots. If convicted of the felonious snowball tossing, the men each face between one and five years in prison, and a maximum $2,500 fine.

Not only can you not get guns - you can't "protect yourself" with snowballs, either.

1950: Senator Joseph McCarthy goes ballistic when he discovers 205 commies in the State Department. He would be thrilled spitless to see the Marxists turn the White House into the Red Shed 59 years later.

it's CLIMATE CHANGE!

I always laugh when something like the changing climate - a thing that has always and will always happen, over which we have no control whatsoever - is spun as some sort of crisis that we all have to "do something" about.

The climate has changed and will continue to shange, since the creation of Earth to its end. There is nothing we can do besides use our technology to adapt to whatever changes may come.

Which is why I laugh, because the reaction to this most recent change is to try to stifle our technology, the very thing that will keep us going through the changes that are sure to come. Any concept of a stable climate is simply an illusion that you have been lead to believe by paid for scientists and a short, human lifespan that has only seen one climate in its pathetically short tenure in this mortal coil.

Adapt or die.

Half the people in the world have been sold on this global warming scam, including a stary-eyed liberal neighbor of mine. While talking the other day about a totally unrelated subject, i asked him what he would think if someone were to walk up to him on the street and say, "i can change the weather and all you need do is give me control of your life". He looked at me like i was nuts and said, "gee, i'd be pretty stupid to buy that kind of story, wouldn't i".

I rest my case.

Federal, State and Local relief authorities, even in a state of disaster/crisis, are not authorized to seize your legally carried firearm! (they may do so to put you on a helo or truck, but must give it back to you when they drop you off at the evacuation destination).

Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as amended, and Related Authorities

Skip to section:
SEC. 706. FIREARMS POLICIES. (a) PROHIBITION ON CONFISCATION OF FIREARMS.— No officer or employee of the United States (including any member of the uniformed services), or person operating pursuant to or under color of Federal law, or receiving Federal funds, or under control of any Federal official, or providing services to such an officer, employee, or other person, while acting in support of relief from a major disaster or emergency, may— (1) temporarily or permanently seize, or authorize seizure of, any firearm the possession of which is not prohibited under Federal, State, or local law, other than for forfeiture in compliance with Federal law or as evidence in a criminal investigation; (2) require registration of any firearm for which registration is not required by Federal, State, or local law; (3) prohibit possession of any firearm, or promulgate any rule, regulation, or order prohibiting possession of any firearm, in any place or by any person where such possession is not otherwise prohibited by Federal, State, or local law; or (4) prohibit the carrying of firearms by any person otherwise authorized to carry firearms under Federal, State, or local January 9, 2007 Sec. 705 ROBERT T. STAFFORD DISASTER RELIEF 62 law, solely because such person is operating under the direction, control, or supervision of a Federal agency in support of relief from the major disaster or emergency. (b) LIMITATION.—Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit any person in subsection (a) from requiring the temporary surrender of a firearm as a condition for entry into any mode of transportation used for rescue or evacuation during a major disaster or emergency, provided that such temporarily surrendered firearm is returned at the completion of such rescue or evacuation. (c) PRIVATE RIGHTS OF ACTION.— (1) IN GENERAL.—Any individual aggrieved by a violation of this section may seek relief in an action at law, suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress against any person who subjects such individual, or causes such individual to be subjected, to the deprivation of any of the rights, privileges, or immunities secured by this section. (2) REMEDIES.—In addition to any existing remedy in law or equity, under any law, an individual aggrieved by the seizure or confiscation of a firearm in violation of this section may bring an action for return of such firearm in the United States district court in the district in which that individual resides or in which such firearm may be found. (3) ATTORNEY FEES.—In any action or proceeding to enforce this section, the court shall award the prevailing party, other than the United States, a reasonable attorney’s fee as part of the costs. Steve, good buddy - it's time for the good citizens of North Carolina to SUE THE SHIT out of your state government.

Or maybe that was a local pacifist Mayor who is too stupid to know the law... Not the entire state...

But STILL!!!

Jimbo,
thanks for that law, I may print that, have it laminated and throw it in my Gun Bag. It might not hurt all of us to have that on hand.

I also sent this intel to the folks at my new FM Talk radio station, where I heard about this first. Just sent it this morning, hope to get an answer, if I do, I'll post it as a new article.

That's interesting. Here in NYC, the law states that anyone licensed to carry a concealed weapon "shall surrender said weapon (and license) upon the request of, or order by, any Police Officer". There's nothing in that law that i'm aware of that requires "probable cause" or any other requirement to seize the weapon and license.

Note the federal law above seems to give way to state and local laws.
