Good News from Texas

~
Guns to Work Bill Passes

A controversial bill that would allow Texans to bring guns and ammunition to work in their cars, even if their bosses said no, was unanimously approved today by the Texas Senate.

Guns and shells would have to be kept out of sight in a locked car.

“Ten states have passed laws like this … and there have not been any problems,” said state Sen. Glenn Hegar, R-Katy, the author of the measure. “This is designed to stop employers from punishing employees who legally bring weapons to work in their cars.”

Senate Bill 730 was opposed by business groups, who cautioned that with a growing number of Texas workers getting laid off, some might start shooting if they had a gun stowed in their car.

Gun-advocacy groups and other proponents said that as crime grows with the deepening recession, they need a pistol to make it safely to and from work.

Pull my trigger.

If the truth be known - Texans have always "taken their guns to work" - but now they can do it legally.

Very cool! Good news and more of a reason to secede from the union should it become necessary to protect our state's rights... and it looks more necessary every day. Jimbo for President of Texas!

Why would this be a problem for businesses if the worker is laid off? If he's been laid off he won't be there.

And I did it again...

I should have said squeeze my trigger.

Or maybe 'Click my safety'... or 'slap my magazine'... or 'pump my...' never mind.

WORD OF THE DAY
TAXPAYER, n.

The lowest link in the political food chain, his, her, hisher or its only function is to fund the largess the Nanny State bestows on chronic malcontents and politically-prized parasites.

Yeah, but did anyone hear Joe Liberalman put Gun Show gun sales in with his millions for Homeland Security stuff yesterday?

Yep, he went on and on for 2 minutes about illegal aliens, terror attacks, millions for this, task forces for that, CLOSE THE LOOP HOLES THAT ALLOW GUN PURCHASES AT GUN SHOWS, blah, blah, blah for 3 more minutes about Mexican gangs and drug wars, and violence.

As if Mexican drug guys are buying guns at a gun show in Bean Hole, IA or Bearded Woman, MT or Beefsteak, VT!!

And once again proving, to me at least, that liberals aren't just stupid, they are evil. Joe Leiberman and all the other anti-gun guys know that people getting illegal guns aren't getting them from gun shows. The news stuff I've been reading about the Mexican drug violence keeps referencing AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.

I've only been to a few gun shows. I guess I just missed seeing the "walk up and buy an illegal full-auto machine gun" booth.

uh...Jimbo...could ya point your BARREL the other way please? ESPECIALLY if it's being pumped, thanks dude.

Liberals know the only guns they can ban are those legally owned by law abiding citizens, which of course, is their intention. All of their draconian gun laws have no effect on criminals.

Another thing that makes me laugh is their favorite phrase, one meant to sound as ominous as possible, "semi-automatic assault weapons". What weapon is not an assault weapon? In fact, anything (scissors, kithcen knife, pencil, beer can, hair brush, etc.) can be an assault weapon, depending on the users intent.

They define a semi-automatic weapons as, one that can be fired more than once without reloading. Gee, with the exception of a Flintlock, that's all guns! And there you get a glimps at their real target, ALL GUNS! They will not stop. They will not give up.
