Is it just me, or is Amerika turning into Jonestown? It seems we have another Jim Jones on our hands, except this one has a whole lot more power! I can't wait for New Years Eve to see if the traditional champagne is replaced by Kool-Aid.

Actually, Freak, Oblammo won 52% to 46% of the popular vote. I wouldn't call that a "drubbing". I'd call it a result of teh average American's unwillngness actually to educate themselves on the issues. And no, it won't take "generations". Obama will show his true colors soon enough.

Wrong. Come January 21st, the democrats will begin to think and act as if they won a mandate from the American people and begin digging their own grave.
They are starting with a 9% approval rating, how much longer do you think they can last now that they have this "mandate?"
They will begin to self-destruct within months, just like any political party does when they hold both the legislative and executive branches. Just like 03-06 when the repubs had control and all of a sudden became fiscal liberals and gave money away faster than we could replenish it.

HLF, I hope for all of our sakes that I am wrong, but I think that, assuming you are an intelligent, thinking person, and not a leftist hack that will adhere to leftists no matter how looney or crappy their policies, you will find after the next couple of years that you'd really like to see some dissenting opinions back in the legislature, too.
