Department Store Truckers In the News

I saw two things online recently that sort of go together. The common thread? Truckers that haul goods for department stores (granted, lower-end department stores - Wal-Mart and Target) doing things they shouldn't.

This one will make you roll your eyes. I know I saw it elsewhere earlier this morning, but now that I go to look for it, I can't find it. Hmmm... Anyway, here is the only version I can find now: Wal-Mart trucker smuggles illegals across border.

This one will either make you roll your eyes or giggle. Maybe both. If other things have been added by the time you click, scroll down to Shopping Cart Fail. http://failblog.org/

We trust our truckers to keep our country running smoothly. It is a thankless, monotonous job. I am directly related to two truckers, both of whom do a fine job and know exactly what they are doing. But do you ever stop to think that the 18-wheeler flying past you at 15 miles over the speed limit could be driven by one of these morons? It's a frightening thought.

Now don't be too hard on that Wally World driver. Knowing that his employer was falling on hard times due to the economic downturn, said cartage expert was merely bringing in more customers for Wal-Mart.

Who of us hasn't done similar things to garner favor with "the man".

Anyone who has ever driven a truck knows that you should pull away from the dock only far enough to shut the doors. Most everyone who has ever driven a truck has done something like the driver in the video-the one who unloaded all those shopping carts-not the one who smuggled all those wetbacks into the United States.

I don't see what's so surprising about what this trucker did, especially down in southern Mexas, which i no longer consider part of the US. He's probably an illegal himself! With the economy the way it is, many illegals are said to be going back home, (not sure i buy that) but the ones that stay are doing just about anything to make money. I just wonder how many thousands of times a day situations like this one happen, but we don't hear about them.
