Will Obama, Dems Kill 401(k) Plans?

This article is from Oct. 22, 2008.

Then the next day, this article was published.

Hold on to your britches boys and girls. Don't get caught bending over or with your pants down. I'll gladly pay the tax and cash in our 401K before I let our government have it.

I read this when it first hit the great WWW. The MSM certainly kept it quiet during the great "Obama erection".

This plan would kill Wallstreet overnight - just what the communists have been dreaming about for 90 years.

If you will harken back to those halcyon days of yore in the early days of the first Clinton administration...

Billy the C. nominated a woman [her name escapes me at my advanced age] for the number two job at the Department of the Treasury. She pubicly opined that the feds should "scoop up [her words]" 15% of all the money in IRA's and 401(k)'s. Billy had to withdraw her name from consideration.

I'll let you know C-Bug. I think there's not going to be a prob. There's some major ammo stores here. I'll go shopping Sat.

"The future has not been written. The USSA is not etched in stone. 'Happy Days' may be dead and buried, for all time, but our inalienable individual liberty still exists. It's our task to restore it to its rightful place, safely out of the reach of the Obamunists and their neo-Marxist USSA."..... Mad Minds of PIG

This was one of the people at this meeting, all of whom gave diverse opinions on these matters. It doesn't mean they are planning to do this, or even want to.

But end of story, if they did, it would be political suicide. Even the left would shit if they tried this one. This is not their money. It is mine.

Not theirs.

MINE.

If they propose this, I'll just get my money and take the hit.

If they block that, then my guess is it won't matter much. It will get ugly, and a loss of my retirement will be the last thing I'm worried about.

That being said, I laugh at the Federal Government that thinks it can take care of my retirement investments better than I can. This, the same government that bankrupted a totally solvent social security system and created the problem int he first place.

BTW, I laughed my ass off at some of the comments.

One lady basically said that she is retired and lost most of her retirement income whent eh stock market crashed. My response is WTF were you thinking, being ALREADY RETIRED and having so much of your retirement invested in stocks that it actually hurt you? By the time you are retired, you should have moved everything but whatever you're prepared to lose into rock-solid investments that aren't volatile to stock market fluctuations. If you're stupid, I can't help you, and believe me, the government cetrtainly cannot!

There was also the other guy that said that he was tired of worrying about his retirement, blah blah, and that he would be glad to let the government take it over. Whiney baby wants the government to take care of him, is tired of having to make his own plans and decisions, and just wants to be back in his momma's womb where it is all warm and soft. I cannot fathom the mindset that causes a person to so badly WANT the government to take care of them, and push off responsibility for themselves to someone else.

In the end, SOMEONE has to take responsibility, which means we now have a nanny state, where a powerful few hold awesome power over a lazy multitude, simply because they don't want the responsibility to take care of themselves.

Faith in government defies both history and logic.
