Should we boycot these teams?

.
I guess Michael Vick is close enough to getting out of jail to be considering his football career.
.
Roger Goodell, I think, is going to fold over like a paper sheep, in a kid's bed time pop-up book on Vick's return to the grid iron. He'll say Vick has done his time, he's said he was sorry and the National Geographic Channel is showing his dogs getting retrained going to good homes.
.
His actions may have been cruel, but Vick made them dogs TV stars!! Give him another chance!
.
My BULLSHIT Alarm is going off. Loudly.
.
Vick's return will be the reality, but I'm tired of sitting in middle-class land, watching these pampered ass wipes getting preferential treatment. If I, or you gentle reader, had been caught like Vick, we'd do every day of that time. And we would not have been able to return to our normal lives after doing our time. We'd be relegated to being 2nd class citizens, felons required by law to say so on our applications at America's finest fast food chains. I think Vick should flip burgers too.
.
Here's what I think, and trust me, I like my own opinions more than anyone else's.
.
We as sports fans, and law abiding citizens, need to boycot teams that hire and pay MILLIONS of dollars to these miscreants. Send them an e-mail, or better still snail mail by the bagful, telling them they are anathema to us if they hire these thugs. Vick, and the other gun toting, "scrip club" attending thuggery, had their chance and blew it through excess. That should negate his chance to play, and our problem of having his excesses rubbed in our collective face.
.
There are 1200 NCAA schools, most of whom have a football program. That means on any given Sunday, there are hundreds of college football quarterbacks who just missed out on the draft last year. Hundreds of linemen, centers, running backs, tight ends and pass defenders who are ready to play to replace these criminals. They were just outside being good enough to make the team. I say sweep the scum off the top of the team rosters, and let these guys rise up to fill those slots. I've said this to friends who say the talent doesn't exist to replace them.
.
That Bullshit alarm is still howling.
.
There are plenty of Kurt Warners and Vince Papales in the country. They'll play in Vick's, and Plaxico's and Pacman's place. Gladly I'll wager.
.
If we tell these team owners that we won't be buying their tickets, their jersey's, hats, jackets, beer steins, coolers or other team logo gear, they'll listen. Maybe not the first week, but soon.
.
Let Vick, Plaxico, Pacman and the rest of thug elite, pool their money and open a "scrip club" in Compton or Detroit or East St. Louis or some other well known, thug infested place they'll feel comfortable. Let them hang wif da homeys, let them be dog fighting, gun toting, leg shooting morons. But let them do it out of our sight. Let them do it sans the money they make from the fees paid by us, via our cable bill, our product purchases, and ticket purchases game day, that "trickle" down to them by the millions.
.
This is, of course, just one man's opinion.

I agree with your opinion. Let's start with the "Contact Us" on the 49er's and the Viking's web sites. Mr. Bug thinks Jerry Jones of the Cowboys is gonna court Vick as a Romo backup/replacement.

OK,
I'll add the Cowgirls to my list.

I feel like a piss ant going after an elephant on this kind of stuff. But my ONLY true voice is by voting with my wallet. I don't, knowingly or openly, monetarily support anyone who's politics I disagree with. In this case "politics" includes employing jerks who exhibit felonious behavior.

OT

I just watched “The Longest Day” – 1962. A lot of men’s men (like John Wayne) acting out the battle that changed history for the following 60 years. I’m certain most of you have seen it – the older version of Spielturd’s ”Private Ryan” without the gratuitous graphic violence and the underlying anti-war message. Whereas I’m glad I watched “Private Ryan” – once was enough. I’ve seen “Longest Day” about a dozen times. It’s a movie that is historically accurate without all the suck-up leftist politics, and it makes a normal man proud to be a lover and protector of liberty.

“Longest Day” was followed by “Tora! Tora! Tora!” – 1970 – the story of the surprise Jap attack at Pearl. While most of the movie is accurate, the first 15-minutes can almost ruin it for anyone that knows history. The third or fourth scene in depicts a healthy and unencumbered Roosevelt pacing the Oval Office. I’ve also seen this movie about a dozen times – and it always nudges my “fair justice” gene – you know – that gene liberals were born without?

Point of this OT is the steady downward spiral from Hollywood of the depiction of America in world conflicts. No longer are movies made about protecting liberty at any cost. Now America is depicted of the wrongful oppressor of those who wish to kill us.

F*ck you Hollywood – City of Communist Pussies. I’m not watching the Communist Pussy Awards at the moment. I hope you aren’t, either.

What is right is wrong, and what is wrong is right. Just like the Bible said it would be.

End of rant.

Your friend, Jimbo

Oh - and ON TOPIC...

I love boycotts!!! I Boycott Disney, and Ford, and McDonald’s, and Starsucks, and any company that puts ruinous socialist politics above the good of the majority, liberty and the country.

I’ll happily boycott a team that hires a convicted felon.

But I’m not so certain Jerry Jones will do a Vick. But if he does, I’ll boycott the Cowboys.

Not watching the Communist Pussy Awards here. I did see on the news that City of Communist Pussies is thinking about striking. I hope they do. Poor pussies. The economy has hit them too.

Oh... and....
I have seen both movies and I agree.

LOL C-Bug! Such language from the young an pure!

But... "Patton" is on now. (War night on AMC.) So much for language, huh? :-)

Jimbo,
excellent OT comment.

I honestly came in here to kill this article. But I'll not remove that comment. John Wayne's ghost would kick my ass. That I do not need.

Oh...AND...
Did you know it cost more to make "Tora! Tora! Tora!" than it did for the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor?

Oh....and.....
I'm not so young or so pure. ;-)
Darn! Patton is on here as well. I'd like to watch it but it's almost 11:00 here. I'm off to bed.

I believe Jerry Jones learned his lesson with the Pacman Jones deal. He's dodged a bullet so far with Terryl Owens except for the time poor, persecuted Terryl took an "accidental" overdose of pain pills. My money's on Al Davis for Vick's next employer.

Jones is a jerk. Plain and simple. I'm no Dallas fan, but I'll go to my grave thinking Jimmy Johnson left there because the players didn't like him trying to control their off field shenanigans. Jones had a choice, the coach or the thugs who catch, carry or tackle.

Jones made the wrong choice.

And Jones FIRED Tom Landry! FIRED! You don't FIRE a legend! Let him go out with some respect but don't FIRE him! I'm still mad about it.
