A big share of the financial burden of raising Nadya Suleman's 14 children could fall on the shoulders of California's taxpayers, compounding the public furor in a state already billions of dollars in the red.
Even before the 33-year-old single, unemployed mother gave birth to octuplets last month, she had been caring for her six other children with the help of $490 a month in food stamps, plus Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters. The public aid will almost certainly be increased with the new additions to her family.
Also, the hospital where the octuplets are expected to spend seven to 12 weeks has requested reimbursement from Medi-Cal, the state's Medicaid program, for care of the premature babies, according to the Los Angeles Times. The cost has not been disclosed.

I think the doctor who did the procedure should be required to pay the lions share of the initial medical costs. He should be named as the father of legal record so he pays for their upkeep.

Regardless, these 14 kids should be taken away from this crazy bitch. She, nor any single person, can take care of that many small kids. Spread them out, and NEVER tell them who they are.

Well lets see.... She certainly doesn't pay taxes. Do you think they'll increase her welfare check by $13 a week?
& the local paper has an article about how she paid $15,000 for the fertility treatment.....
She doesn't pay taxes, meaning she qualifies for a tax rebate, according to yo president.
What's needed in this case is a deep investigation to see who was actually behind her decision. Was it the doctor? If it was, then make him pay. Or, was it some group of radical pro-lifers. Whomever it was, they should be made to pay 100%! And, a court needs to order that she be sterilized!

according to the reports I've seen and read, having more children was an idea of hers and hers alone. Her friends and family tried to get her to not do it. Her parents, and the sperm donor, talked to the Fertility Doctor and told him not to do another procedure.
I've looked, but cannot find, just how a woman with 6 kids, no job, living with her parents, managed to gather the money for this procedure.

She neglected to add that 3 of her kids do receive Disability Payments of around $800 per month. If it seems like I'm splitting hairs gentle reader, remember that the hairs were hers to split, not mine.
So how many of the 8 new kids have a disability? And how much more $ in food stamps will she get?
She may not be on "welfare" but she certainly is on government assistance. Spidey is right... She will qualify for a tax rebate.

Stevie, obviously, the doctor either didn't listen, or can't hear. His license (assuming he has one) should be lifted, forthwith! And because of her situation, she's automatically an unfit mother since there's no way she can provide proper care and attention to all those poor kids.
Of course, if she were black, Operah would have bought her a mansion, and all the bleeding-hearts in Commiewood would be having Mother-Aid concerts to raise millions for her.
