Trouble In Paradise?

This is starting to get good! It seems that Yomama, yo new president, is taking hits from all sides, including (and especially from) the Kool-Aid drinking Leftists who've been worshiping him for the last year, the commies at MSNBC, and even the Marxists over at Move-On! No, it has nothing to do with the fact that most of Yomama's cabinet picks are all waiting to be handed a Grand Jury subpoena. This is about the $1+ TRILLION that Yomama, Nancy Botox, and dead-face Harry Reid are trying to give away for votes. Fortunately, for the first time that i can remember, the Republicans got smart and stood together, not giving the Demoncrats one vote! So when the "real" truth about this massive new welfare program comes out, and the whole mega-scam hits the fan, the Dumbocrats will have no one to blame but each other, and of course, GWB.

This is a great quote. It looks like this is the path we are on. This path can be reversed only if we stand up and vote in two years.

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the
other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 to 2005

I said, days after the election, that President BOHICA was in trouble.

You can't be everybody's everything. And he promised everybody, everything!!

As Ross Perot said, "that dog won't hunt".

What i still find amazing is not that politicians will lie and say anything to get elected, (the promise of great power and wealth will do that to some people) but that the people still buy into it. Then, to make ourselves feel less stupid, we blame the corrupt, lying politicians for being liars and crooks.

CNN is saying that the nominations of Geithner and Daschle could "sink" Obama's presidency. That makes as little sense as anything they've ever said. Two questionable nominations will "sink" a presidency?

I gotta hand it to you conservatives. You're masters of self-delusion.

This President is going to run all over the republicans.

Not to mention how the republican opposition is purely symbolic. They'll vote for the stimulus spending. Their protests are only theater.

HLF,

The Republicans don't have to vote for the bill unless they really think it will help. The Dems can do whatever they want and don't need a single vote from the other side.

The Republicans know that it is going to happen with or without them so they choose not to vote for it. It is a very smart move on their part. If the bill is a failure (as the Right believes) they can point the finger at the Dems and get control back in 2010. If it is a huge success, they will probably lose some seats but then America will be better because our economy is improved.

Splitting this issue down party lines is a win-win for the American people. We either get a better economy or a change in power in 2 years.

Proof that you scum conservatives are putting ideology before pragmatism.

You'd rather see the country crumble than do what's right.

Being obstructionist certainly didn't help you brainstems in the last 2 elections, I'm not sure why you think 2010 will be a replay of 1994. This meltdown is wrapped tightly around republicans' necks. If we recover, with or without republican votes, republicans suffer. If things get worse, republicans suffer.

You're deluded if you think the people are returning power to the villians for generations.

Oh, that's really mature! Your PMS is showing. Please go take your Midol or if you're a male, put on a testosterone patch. You appear to be a quart low.

HLF,

If the stimulus package works, it will definitely be bad for the Republicans. I don't think you comprehended what I was saying in my other comment.

What I was trying to say was that the bill is going to pass with or without Republican support. The bill will either work and help the economy or not work and probably make things worse.

If it works, expect to see a Democrat super-majority in 2010. If it fails to help the economy, 2010 WILL be worse for the Dems than 1994 because there will be no argument as to whose fault it is.

Like it or not, the Dems are married to this trillion dollars. For better of worse...

Polls show most people expect the fix to take a very long time.

If you think the people are going to return to the failed policies of republicans any time in the next few generations, you're deluded.

Well, that's the problem, ain't it, Freaky? Not much of a "stimulus" if it takes a long time to kick in. No doctor injects a stimulant and then comes back in a week to see if it worked. A stimulus is supposed to have an immediate or near-immediate effect, e.g.,

stim⋅u⋅lus
1. something that incites to action or exertion or quickens action, feeling, thought, etc.

(Random House Dictionary)

The best numbers--from the Gummint itself--indicate that, at best, only about 10-12% of this bill will have any kind of "stimulating" effect onthe economy. The rest is pork chops.

It took 8 years for the stupid as fuck republicans to take us down.

They couldn't fix it, that's why they lost all their control.
