Alabama NAACP criticizes use of Trail Maids in Inaugural Parade
Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- They're part of a long standing tradition that will soon become a part of Presidential history.
The head of the Alabama NAACP, however, wants Mobile's Azalea Trail Maids to stay home on Inauguration Day, claiming the group reminds him of slavery.
"These are not just regular costumes. These are the costumes that remind someone of the plantation in Gone with the Wind," Edward Vaughn said in a phone interview.
I suppose, given the trend of the last 10-20 years, this story shouldn’t get me so upset. Alas, I must be “whitewashed”. In the words of the Office of the President Elect, I must be a ‘typical white person’. In this story I see the continued attempt to wipe white culture from history and memory – and I read into it not just the wish to wipe out a culture, but underlying wishes to wipe out a race.
I don’t wish any ill on Mr. Edward Vaughn of the Alabama NAACP. But I do wish he would seek treatment with a qualified psychiatrist. If he is “reminded of slavery” he must be well over 150 years old. If he’s not that old, he must suffer from delusions. Either that or he is so full of hate he can’t keep his mouth shut.
In a nutshell; I am amazed at the depth of hate inspired by the new president’s skin color – from those who elected him. And it won’t go away. Anyone who believes the election of B. Hussein Obama was a coup on racism and hate didn’t take into account the racism and hate of Obama’s electorate.
To non-white racists white people are the enemy. Now, with their new feelings of empowerment, white people are an enemy that may be dealt with – NOT an enemy that may be reconciled. Obamunists are willing to sit at the table and discuss terms with Hamas; but not with Joe the Plumber.
On the morning of 9-11 my brother called me and told me things would never be the same. He was right – each time I get on a plane I’m treated like a murdering terrorist. When Obama was elected my brother called me and told me things would never be the same. He was right – but I’ve always sat in the back of the bus, regardless.
You know – I truly feel like I’m getting too old for this crap. It’s time for 5 acres, a vegetable garden, a few goats, a few chickens, and lots and lots of bullets – let the liberal bastards fend for themselves.

You are right. Anyone "reminded" about slavery today is delusional. I say they should be glad for slavery. Their forefathers suffered and died to give them the privilege of living here (just like ours). If they don't like it they should return to their beloved Africa. Heck, there's not anything "African" about 99.9% of "African" Americans anyway.
Still little or no mention of the white slavery of 400 years on the Barbary Coast?

These people are INSANE. Why is it that ANY culture that isn't ethnic is a bad? You can't march down the street in a hoop skirt one day every 4 years, but you can boom your hip-hop, gang bang, misogynistic "music" at every stop light in America, 24/7. You can crow about a culture where 80% of children are born to single women? Your "hereos are mostly sports stars or entertainers?

I wonder if the head of the Alabama NAACP has complained about their appearance at the Rose Bowl Parade, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Disney’s Easter Parade in Orlando, Florida, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Chicago Christmas Parade, the Indianapolis 500 Parade, the Presidential Inaugural Parade (from previous presidents) plus annual appearances at the nations largest 4th of July parade in Atlanta. I dare say NOT!

I believe we should reinstitute slavery so that todays blacks can have a modern-day understanding of what it is they're always whining about. Fact is, blacks do understand very well. They understand the more whining and complaining they do, the more free cheese they'll get. Their liberal enablers have taught them well.
The best way to find a true racist, is to look to those who constantly complain about it.

"This year's Trail Maids include eight black members, two maids of Indian descent, one Asian and 39 whites," said Andy Marasca, president of the group.
"The Trail Maids do not represent the Confederacy or antebellum times but reflect the beauty of Mobile and its 300-plus years of fascinating history," Mobile County commissioners said in a statement.
And last, but not least, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, set up by Obama, selected the parade participants. The Committee is who chose the group!

Jack goes quail hunting before school, pulls into school parking lot with shotgun in gun rack.
1958 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2008 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in
for traumatized students and teachers.
Scenario:
Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school.
1958 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins.
Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2008 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark.
Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it.
Scenario:
Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students.
1958 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by the Principal. Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2008 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADD. School gets extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability.
Scenario:
Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1958 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.
2008 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang. State psychologist tells Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has affair with psychologist.
Scenario:
Mark gets a headache and takes a couple of aspirin he brought to school.
1958 - Mark shares aspirin with Principal out on the smoking dock.
2008 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and weapons.
Scenario:
Pedro fails high school English.
1958 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.
2008 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.
Scenario:
Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July,
puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1958 - Ants die.
2008- ATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.
Scenario:
Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee.
He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary puts bandage on knee
and gives Johnny a hug.
1958 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2008 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job.
She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy..

I saw a similar photo of this same parade on another site but at a shorter distance. It looked like a bunch of guys in dresses to me.
Scenerio:
Johnny is at school and throws something at his teacher.
1958:
Teacher paddles Johnny. Johnny comes home and tells mom and dad what happened and they whoop him again and make him apologize to the teacher.
2008:
Teachers yells at Johnny. Johnny tells his parents who call the principal demanding the teacher get fired for hurting their little angel's feelings.
