Hey Schteveo, In 1976-1978 when I was in the marching band, everyone had to wear their hair up in the band hat except for a male drummer who said the same thing.

Idiocy.
The assumption that the length of someones hair, denotes ability or intelligence is archaic at best.
I remember the teachers / administrators in public schools sending boys home because their hair was too long, or girls home because skirts were too short. (and by short, I mean above the knee, not mini or micro)
Then again, maybe they had something. The dropping of dress codes coincides with the drop off in education in the schools.

Holy S--t! I wish I had the problem of my hair being too long. Wish I hadn't kept it cut short all these years. Now it's long gone.
