'Giving' is down

Up to 100,000 Nonprofits Could Close in Bad Economy

Today, the U.S. boasts more than one million nonprofits, up from about 774,000 ten years ago. Their biggest donations come from corporations, foundations and the ultra-wealthy. Many have been hit hard by the deepening recession. A drop in charitable contributions could shutter as many as 100,000 nonprofits over the next year, says Paul Light, a professor at New York University's Wagner School of Public Service.

My Comments:
And when the Obamunist attack on the rich begins in earnest, these donations will fall further. Of course, the Obamunists will step in (or attempt to step in) with the cash they harvest from those who once supported the Nonprofits. The Nonprofits will then become dependent on government rather that the private sector.

This is exactly the way liberal democrats work, and the way they’ve always worked: Giving government the responsibilities of the individual, and forcefully taking from the individual the funding the free-sector would have given anyway. This way, socialists appear to be saviors.

But the fact is, because the lazy liberals in government are far less efficient (bright) than their counterparts in the free-sector, the waste is abhorrent, and everything collapses due to apathy.

Never forget: Socialism breeds apathy. It has been proven over and over and over again for thousands of years that socialism doesn’t work. But silly liberals (especially Obama/Pelosi/Reed) don’t “do” history – it interferes with their power-greed.

And one last thing – “New York University's Wagner School of Public Service” – just the name sounds like a breeding ground of do-nothing waste meant for people who have never and will never produce or trade a single widget in their leaching lives. Public service (helping your neighbor) is something that comes naturally to a conservative base. But liberals, being the cretins they are, have to actually be taught to serve others. To them, there is nothing 'natural' about it.

Absolutely disgusting.

Here is Obama's charitable giving over the last 7 years. Was a generous man....Gives a whole 6.1% when making a cool million. But when he was "rich" ($250,000-ish) he gave aroune 1%.

Year AGI Given Percentage
2006 $983,826 $60,307 6.1%
2005 $1,655,106 $77,315 4.7%
2004 $207,657 $2500 1.2%
2003 $238,327 $3400 1.4%
2002 $259,394 $1050 0.4%
2001 $272,759 $1470 0.5%
2000 $240,505 $2350 1.0%

This is much better than Biden's. The most he ever gave was 0.31%.

But hey....Why should you give when the government can do it for you?

Oh...and.... compare that to John McCain, whose tax returns show that he gave 27.3% - 28.6% of his income to charity in 2006-2007.

Perhaps Obama-Biden needs a new slogan: "Change You Can Believe In (As Long As Someone Else Pays For It)"

Hopefully, people will give less to the DNC too.

Remember just a couple of short years ago, when the term "the transfer of wealth" was just that, a term, and one that few even understood? Well, guess what?

Well what about all those compassionate, generous cons?

This cannot be coming from someone who said that he threw a party when Ron Reagan died and that Alan Greenspan should be dragged from his Georgetown home and beaten to death with tire irons, can it?

Anonymous said...

It most certainly did. I stand by both of those statements neither of which have anything to do with the topic.
