20 January, 2009 the day America ceased to exist. At least the America I grew up in.
The America where people took care of themselves and their families rather queue up with their hand out.
The America where as lad I could sling my .22 rifle and ride my bicycle to the rifle range, and no one gave it a seconds thought.
The America where self respect was earned through hard work and setbacks, rather than self esteem being handed out for being politically correct.
The America where one chose their own words, rather than choosing from a menu of approved words.
The America where "everybody" received a pocket knife for his eighth birthday.
The America where EVERYONE stood for the Colors and the National Anthem.
The America where two kids could duke it out and not be expelled from school.
The America where we faced down Russian nukes, rather than negotiate for "peace".
The America where immigrants wanted to be AMERICANS rather than hyphens.
The America where freedom of thought, freedom of speech and freedom of action were paramount, rather than afterthoughts.
For the next four years this country is going to experience a wave of politically correct, leftist assaults on all that makes America great. United we stand, divided we go to the re-education camps.
I'll be cracking a bottle of Bourbon and throwing the cap away to commune with the spirit of America past...

Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., who is battling a brain tumor, was taken away from the congressional luncheon in convulsions.
Kennedy was at a table with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., Vice President Mondale and Mrs. Mondale, and others. While at the table, Kennedy began having seizures that lasted for several minutes. As they were carrying Kennedy out of the room, he was still seizing. President Barack Obama went out of the room with him, but he is back in the luncheon room now.
We are also told that Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., the oldest member of the Senate, was so upset and distraught from what he had witnessed, that he needed to be taken out. Byrd was conscious when he was taken from the room. The two have been friends for a very, very long time.
Obama just spoke to the luncheon about Kennedy, appearing extremely sober:
"First of all, I know that while I was out of the room, concern was expressed about Teddy," Obama said. "He was there when the Voting Rights Act passed. And, along with John Lewis, was a warrior for justice. And so I would be lying to you if I did not say that right now a part of me is with him. And I think that is true for all of us. This is a joyous time, but it's also a sobering time. And my prayers are with him and his family and Vicki."
In an interview with ABC's Jonathan Karl, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said Kennedy was talking as he was taken out on a stretcher to the ambulance.
Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., a very close friend of Kennedy's, could be seen laughing as Kennedy's stretcher was put into the ambulance

Electing a president that has leftist tendencies won't "end" america. It won't even hurt us badly enough to make the history books. The higher you get in political office, the more centrist you have to become. Period. He'll govern left of center for 8 years, and the people won't like it, and will elect a republican, who will govern right of center for 8 more, and the people won't like it, and so on and so forth.

Well Goob, it may not bother those of you who sit on the fence, (the one that separates liberals and moderates) but conservatives are bothered by a president who has Leftist tendencies because of the damage he can do in those 4 or 8 years.
Yomama, especially with a Leftist congress behind him, can do damage to our lives that will last for many years. (environment, healthcare, military, etc.) And when he makes his changes to the SCOTUS, the damage can last for generations!
