with my fingers crossed "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Not me. Our comapny used to have President's day off, but they switched it to MiLK day. This is our last paid "holiday" until Memorial day. That's a looooong time without a 3-day weekend. Luckily I have a ton of vacation days saved up.
And as far as "President for Life" - his or ours? As the article says, George Washington began the tradition of stepping down after two terms. A tradition that was kept until we had a democrat who believed he was king. It was because of that democrat that the 22nd ammendment was passed. Even though Reagan expressed a wish to have a third term, I doubt he would have. Leave it to another democrat to actively to aspire to break tradition.
I'm against it, no matter who the incoming president is. without term limits, you expose yourself to the Robert Mugabes and Hugo Chavez's of the world, where they become "democratically" elected every time their limit comes up, simply because the people are either too afraid to vote against them, or, in the case of Mugabe, all of your opponents miraculously have died of terrible accidents prior to the election.
Any House member presenting such a bill to congress is not your firend, and is no friend of the people. He is a friend of power, and nothing more.
If we need anything, it is term limits on congressmen, not a LACK of term limits on the president.
If republicans weren't such awful leaders maybe one of them could win four terms like Roosevelt did.
But as we saw with this last one, republicans create misery for many and comfort for the few. That's why they can't hold on to power for very long. I mean, how inspirational is leadership based on selfishness, greed and fear?
I keep hearing from my local newsies about how (wondrous, marvelous, historic, grand, enter your gush here)and how HE is so overwhelming and universally admired.
Yeah, that explains the land slide he got on election day.

And to think, Stevie - His grand-total experience = being a community organizer of Chicago gangs. WOW! Is America a great place or what?
Uhmm.. I gues that should be in the past-tense, huh?

The only problem with doing nothing, is you never know when you're done!
Jose Serrano is well-known in NYC as one of our useless, ultra-liberal, elected crooks. The only reason he would bring up something this stupid is to hopefully land himself a big job in DC, where he can get his hands on the real money.
WORD OF THE DAY OBAMERICA, The misery-plagued remains of a once noble experiment in inalienable liberty, after its people surrendered it to Marxist tyranny, without a fight.
I dont know why there is all the security ... if there is someone there to cause trouble won't Obama just call fire down from heaven to consume the would-be assassin?

I dunno. Why don't we ask the Clinton's?
"That's why they [Republicans] can't hold on to power for very long." Troll
1861-2008
Democrat presidents = 72 years
Republican presidents = 81 years
1952-2008
Democrat presidents = 20 years
Republican presidents = 36 years

WORD OF THE DAY
OBAMERICA,
The misery-plagued remains of a once noble experiment in inalienable liberty, after its people surrendered it to Marxist tyranny, without a fight.

Actually, would';t he call it UP?
"wouldn't", that is
