WASHINGTON (AP) - After crushing defeats in back-to-back elections, the top Senate Republican warned Thursday that the GOP risks remaining out of power in the White House and Congress unless it better explains its core principles to woo one-time faithful and new loyalists.
"The results of the two recent elections are real, and so are the obstacles we face as a party," Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told the Republican National Committee on Thursday. "My concern is that unless we do something to adapt, our status as a minority party may become too pronounced for an easy recovery."
"The situation is challenging, but it's far from irreversible," McConnell added, a dash of optimism in an otherwise stark assessment of where the Republican Party went wrong as he provided a road map for how it can right itself.

I saw some talking head on Cavuto this afternoon addressing this. He said that 68% of new voters and first time voters, took the Democrats to the White House. (again, one for the Sherlock File) But when Cavuto asked him how to get voters back, he said that the Conservatives needed to be better at things like Facebook, Twitter and Blogging the issues.
.
I was SCREAMING at the TV. (scared poor Turtle to death he asked me if I was mad at that man on TV, but being older, you know the answer)
.
I have already written to my elected worms, and told them going BACK to sound conservative principles would be good way to start. We need to all do this. What we really need is a Bull Moose type party to shake like minded folks together.
.
I'm calmed down now, but this idiocy must cease and we have got to get a strong message to our elected or soon to be elected worms, that we don't want compromise, we want conservatism!!

The left will not give up their constant attacks on anything noncommie. Just look what rears its ugly head right here. It's time to go on the offense with not the ultra-right whackos, but with a more Libertarian tact. At least the Republican Congressmen rejected the commie giveaway
All I can think is how can I slap that smirk off of pelosi.
Socialist Prophecy:
Sixty four years ago, Norman Thomas knew what was going to happen to our country in 2009.
Norman Mattoon Thomas (1884-1968) was a leading American socialist, pacifist and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America. As the Socialist Party candidate for president, Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
He went on to say:
"I no longer need to run as a presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform"
There are two goals here:
1 - Make the republican party a conservative party.
2 - Get the republican party elected.
Obama stood for nothing. He got elected based on facebook, twitter, and telling lies. That is what the republicans are trying to emulate. If they could adapt the ways the dems reached the people to reach the people with good ideas, they could achieve both goals.
I'm afraid the sad truth is that the Republican Party, and Conservatives, will never defeat the Left so long as they insist on "taking the high road and playing by the rules", a notion the Left finds amusing and very easy to overcome. And i give you Juan McLoser as a perfect example. He was, and continues to be, a study in weakness. IMO, he's just a liberal RINO.
To fight the Left, you must do two things, whether you like them or not. 1) you have to be willing to adopt (and use) their tactics. 2) you must realize you're not just fighting them, but 98% of the MSM as well. Obviously, McLoser was unwilling to do either.
But our real problem is much, much bigger than some phony politicians. We have a govt. that is, even to those unwilling to admit it, "totally" dysfunctional. That, IMO, is not simply because of the people in it, or the weak, mindless voters who perpetuate it, it's the system itself. If what we now have is truly what the Founding Fathers had in mind, then they were dead wrong!
